no spark
I have a stock d16z6 that isn't producing a spark. I took it to a trusted mechanic and he checked cap, rotor, etc and said the problem isn't there, it's somewhere else. I asked him if I could just swap out ECU's and he said that honda's have very low chance of ECU failure and that it would be a waste of time/money. Does anyone else know what could be wrong?
iam not the best trouble shooter
....but i'll try and help you out.
check your ground wires on your thermostat housing and tranny, clean off any rust and make sure there good and tight. but i would check your main relay...before swapping out your ecu

I'm thinking it's your Ignitor or your ignition coil.
Heres a few threads that i found by SEARCHING that i think will help you.
I'm almost %99.9 percent its a distributor problem, so swap dizzys with a friend to see if your problem is fixed.

Your mechanic is full of ****.
He checked the cap, rotor, and button not the coil or ignitor judging by what you say.
Also what about the part where he says hondas have a very little chance of ECU failure....I see ecu problemS ALL the damn time.
Find a new mechanic.
