Default obd2 to obd1 gsr swap in cx?

Well what i need to know is how to convert this to obd1.

The car is a 92 civic hatch cx and the engine is a 98 b18c1 w/p72 ecu. I do not have the wiring harness from the integra only my stock cx harness. I want to wire it from obd2 to obd1. Will i need a obd1 distributer and injectors? I've searched and most guys say that i do but i saw one that said all he had was an obd1 ecu and it worked fine with the right wiring. Im doing the swap in like 3 weeks and i have everything i need but the wiring stuff. What ecu and harness will i need and what tips do you have on this swap? I've asked similar questions in the eg forum in the past and havent gotten a straight answer yet. If i've left out any need to know info just let me know. Thanks for any help guys

Andrew

Yes, you're gonna need OBD1 injectors, and OBD1 dist, and an OBD1 ECU. I believe it's a p61, but I could be wrong there. Chipped P28 or P30 would work as well.

You'll have to add a few wires. (ie. VTEC, Knock, 4 wire O2, etc.) If you arent very good at wiring, I'd recomend sending the harness out. I know HASport offers this service as well. Not sure on there price, but if you want, I have a friend that also does these conversions. PM B17A HATCH on here, he'll help you out.

dont forget the obd1 alternator. Its not neccesary to get obd1 injectors, you can always rewire the obd2 injectors. Its best to stick with the harness thats in your car, but you can always get a vtec harness thats obd1, (EX, gsr).

Yea you can use a P61. But that is a B17A's ECU

The GSR ecu is a P72.

Everything else is correct

Ahhh, I knew I was close. Only off by 11 numbers. I had that one in my head, my buddy just finished that swap.

If you get a 99-01 GSR swap, the harness will plug right into the shock tower as well. There will just be some wires not in use, like the CKF (crankshaft fluctuation sensor) and such.

since the car is a 92', it is already wired up for Vtec. If you have the harness that came with the motor, you could use that and plug it into the car at the passenger side shock tower. With a 92', the OBD-1 P72 Gsr would plug right in, and with a few mods, you would be able to retain use of the IAB's, as well. You can use the injectors, dizzy and all from your OBD-2 motor, just not the computer... You dont have the harness from the motor???
