O.K. Which model civic do you have? It may not matter on that year however. There should be vtec wired allready.

Your car is a obd1 so you wont need a harness.

What ecu do you have specifically? p28 p30?

Best to do a search and get familar with what youre doing and if nothing else you will gain knowledge in the world of swaps.

Me learning also...

I am getting a p28 ecu with the jum program I have a dx model.

I have done many swaps just never jdm motors or anything that was obd2.

I have done a search on this and I havent found anything usefull.

I know that the wiring harness on the jdm motors is switched or opposite of the usdm because of the right hand drive.

My question is do the jap spec cars use obd1 or obd2 computer systems
Thanks

Good ecu and chip.

Same here. Actually only a couple other swaps but my first jdm swap. ITR into 93 Si.

It happens.

Dont matter. Your p28 will plug into youre existing harness. Your Dx is wired for vtec. Although you will have to add 2 wires for vtec on the motor side.

JDM motors have different computers for different years in your case the ecu that came with that motor is either a p72 or p73 both are obd2.
Normally the p28 is for sohc vtec motors but with a jun chip ( Im guessing its chipped for a b motor.) will make the p28 ready for a B motor.

When you do the swap you can plug the ecu in as is the only thing you wont get is vtec until you route that wiring.
