13 is a respectable time....
Im planning on putting a ls engine into a 88-91 hatch and If I can get that beast down into the 13's, high 13's is alright with me would i have to do some internal things, head work, I really dont want to have to put laughing gas in it just keep streetable and very fast is my goal. Maybe turbo it down the road you never know.

I agree. I've put together a few bad *** LS motors in 88-91s and JG cams and high compression hit hard on those engines. Bad *** torque.
what would you suggest with a turbo what cams???
And what tranny do you intend on using? The LS tranny has some extremely long-*** gearing for all motor.
As far as cable trannies go, the J1/S1 JDM trannines have the same gearing as the USDM ITR, and they also have the 4.400 FD. This would be a great all-motor tranny. Another good tranny would be the USDM 92-93 GS-R tranny. Same as the JDM J1/S1, but slightly shorter 1st gear.
The Y1 has the OPTION for LSD, but it has taller gears and the 4.26 FD. This would not be a horrible tranny for all-motor, but it would still be at a disadvantage in terms of gearing against the JDM J1/S1.
You can amake all the power you want to all-motor, but it won't help if your tranny has tall as hell gers and the 4.26 FD.

Of course if you plan on spending all of that money on engine work, why not just go with a type R motor, itll put you in the 13's w/good driving, and you wont have to worry about all the reliability problems associated with, a lot of modifications.

No with the right head and cam combo you could do it. Try and look for a used JG Head and 303 cams and your poo poo will fly.
get some crower 505 lift cams , a friend of mine with a crx has them in his crx with ls motor his is so fast all motor his best time is a 12.7 on very old and poopy slicks his idle is very intimidating
