Default RPM problems after swap... (look inside!!)

This week i swapped a 98 Integra LS motor into my friend's 98 Civic HX (1.6 economy vtec) everything OBD2.

Everything ran perfect until today, he left for work and the rpm's would flicker up and down (without engine RPM increase) he said the MPH moved around too, but i havnt seen that happen.

Until it finally flickered alot and died... it starts back up, but after driving a bit it will do it again...

ATM it has 3 codes...

10 - IAT sensor
41 - primary o2 (just not plugged in, need to extend wires to reach o2)
91 - fuel pressure sensor input low (<- fuel pump inadequate for current engine?)

Im thinking it might be a problem going from vtec to non-vtec... maybe a distributor issue? using the wire harness from HX since the wires that run to the ECU are different than integra.

Any help would be appreciated.

TIA

What ECU are you using and why haven't you hooked up the ******* oxygen sensor yet?

running the LS ecu...

Im running the wires right now... on the HX motor the os sensors are at the front of the engine, the current o2 is at the back, wires dont reach and need to be extended. anyway, the o2 sensor isnt causing the rpm problem.

o2 is plugged in now... only code is IAT.

I checked the harness and it seems alright, im still confused on what could be wrong... done alot of swaps and this has never happened before.

Switched ECU's and it did the same thing...

IAT = intake air temp sensor? the gauges going wild could be the sub-harness on the dash harness' side which could have nothing to do with anything motor related. my friend has a bad vss wiring which makes his speedo hop in his '01 GSR.

replace your IAT, see if that takes care of the code, then try a different Dizzy. or, try changing cap and rotor.

sounds like dizzy, but u would think it'd throw a code. iat would not cause a no start, your using the hx harness i assume. if so it's gotta be cam sensor in the distributor, not sold separately

We are still using the HX wire harness because the LS harness would not reach all the way through to plug into the ECU. Is there another wire harness we are suppose to be using.

would using a OBD2b wireharness work even if the motor is OBD2A, he was thinkin about using a 99-00 Civic Si wireharness.
