Default civic headlight conversion..... KIND OF

Hi, I have a honda civic 1996 two door. I wanted to change the headlights one model up to the 98-2000 headlights. I know the fenders and hood are slightly different. I was curious to know if I could change the fenders and the hood on my 96 and have it able to fit the 2000 headlights? I have heard that I will also need to change the bumper too. I dont want to shave off anything to make the headlights fit, I just want to know what I need to replace for it too happen. Thanks in advance.

I was under the impression that 96-98 was bolt on in between those years and if you wanted to go 99-00 you had to change the whole front end. I could be wrong though

96- 98 are the same headlights and hood and fender and front bumper

if you want to go to the all clear headlights with no ridges in the turn signal then you need both fenders headlights and front bumper and hood

My bro's 98 came came repaired with a 99 si frontend, and after he lost conciousness (medical reason) and planted his hood into a SUV bumper, he ended up paying $75 per fender, $150 for a urethane bumper, and just got a CF hood (was actually cheaper after you'd color-match it). BTW he works at an body shop. Painting would be extra for the fenders, as would the price for the lights. I was gonna do this to a 96 but I'm just getting a 99 instead

To be honest, I could think of many other things to spend the $600+ on.

ok ok, so if I get two (99 or 2000) fenders, hood, bumper and grill, and the headlights it will fit in perfectly? If this is true, can I do the job myself? is it easy, or do I need some other modification besides the above things to make this thing happen?

Yes. And for the most part it is bolt on depending on if you do the rad support or not. Do a search for 'conversion' and you'll find tons of info. I've seen three threads on this subject today alone.
