I've never had problems in the past with hitting my uca. Is this the only suspension that has that problem?

That has NOTHING to do with the F&Fs..... If its hitting the UCA then its because you don't have enough shock travel which is caused by your ride height being too low or you hitting big bumps/dips. The lower you go, the stiffer you need to be to limit suspension movement so that it the UCA doesn't bottom out.

Will the extended top hats fix that problem if I want to go low?

Functions and Forms don't have extended top hats and no that won't fix that problem. The problem is that your upper control arm has a physical barrier that it will hit after a given amount of movement. The lower you are, the closer it is to the tower. So to fix that problem you need to limit how much the UCA moves and if you stiffen up the springs it won't move as much. The other option is to simply raise your car a bit. Now you can also look into aftermarket control arms which might give you slightly better clearance but its very small. Most people run Skunk2 because they have tiny bolts so it helps but theres complaints about those little bolts slipping and thats just not good. Plus its Skunk2 so its iffy as is. Buddy club has a similar design that works well and I haven't heard of any issues from them. Thats what I would run personally. Something that slammed guys do is they cut the upper control tower and weld in new metal in a different shape in order to give it more room which helps but I mean how far are you willing to go?

You can see it here for example, he reworked the shape to appear OEMish too.

Its really all too simple, when you go low you either bottom out or you go stiffer, thats it! Accept it.

Ok I appreciate all the info. I wasn't really trying to go as low as these other guys that tuck all tire. The height I wanted is exactly like the eg hatch on the previous page so hopefully I won't hit the uca at that height. If it does then I guess I have no choice but to modify it somehow.

Ok I'm having a big issue here...I just got my function form type 1s,installed them but when I got done and put the car back on the ground it was uneven at every corner??only way I could get it somewhat level was to raise/lower each coilover to to match the other side...I did not mess with the preloads I just raised/lowered the very bottoms of them any ideas as to what the issue would be???any help would be great

That is going to be the case with every coil-over setup. Each corner of your car will weigh slightly different so to get all four corners perfectly even you have to play around with the adjustment to get it just right. I've had a full Omni setup, a Skunk 2 sleeve setup, and now a full Tanabe setup and all three of them required fine tuning of the ride height to get all four corners even.

I finally got these installed and the ride is so smooth. Im not low to the ground but low enough and I love it. I did a lot of research before I purchased a set and I really think it is a hit or miss and really depends on who you buy it from. I am super happy with the ride and glad I chose to take the risk and buy them.

I've had megan's, cxracing, godspeed, and now function and form, and for a unadjustable dampening shock, they are amazing.

Has anyone come to find that the wrenches they give to loosen the locking collar are garbage. I tried to adjust my coil overs yesterday and the stupid wrench sucks and wouldn't grip the notches and kept slipping so I wrapped a rag around the collar with channel locks and loosened it with ease.

^ yes they are garbage. I use a flat head and hammer to knock it loose and tighten them by hand.

I need help. mine are maxed out and I wanna go even lower. I'm scared to mess with the preload though. how much more drop will I be able to get out of them? my ride is already very shitty due to how low I have them... so I'm not worried about that.
