i got to get some better pics. but you are using a bottom mount seat right. I just drilled out the brads that hold the brackets to the rail. and bolted the rail in the car. measured the spacing front to rear and took some angle that i notched to fit in the rail and tacked it on the stock rails. took it out and welded. and drilled holes. I had to revise it when i got my fat boy seat

heres shitty pic of my current rail

heres seat mounted in car

88-89, looks like SI but the bumper is the same regardless of trim level.

Thank you sir. I had a feeling that was the case, but kept arguing with myself about why would they give 90-91 such a hideous front.

Today I managed to break more things than fix.

clutch pedal assembly (have no clue how much of a bitch it is to fix. the weld broke of course. pm me if you know what to do)
drill bit (tried to make my own seat bracket)
seat belt clasp (tried to bend the metal to fit the recaro seat)

I'm feeling defeated. How hard is it going to be to pull the clutch pedal assembly out, reinforce the metal and put it back in? I can pull one from a junkyard.

Learned to buy a damn seat bracket and not try and make your own.

Learned to buy a BMW vs. play with the ef.

i pulled apart my pedal box and rewelded it in about an 1.5 hours.

not hard. not easy.

takes less time than buying another car though

90-91 supposedly to be stronger than the 88-89, correct me if I am wrong. But, I know for the fact the plugs are different.
