This is really the only part that matters, since everything else is self explanatory. The key is getting the hole in the right spot and as small as possible. Also, making the hole is one thing, but getting a back up wrench in there in order to tighten the bolts for the leg is another. In the end, I had to separate the upper panel (grey half) from the lower black part and remove the 1/4 window.

any pics of a cage in a crx with interior? im thinking it may go through the speaker holes...?
I wouldnt mind, it would save me the headache of cutting a perfect hole, and the speaker cover would be easier to custom fit than the whole rear interior panel. in for pics if anyone has any... im also assuming most people with a cage/roll bar in a rex are going gutted.
CRX's are waaaay easier since the speaker grille is removable. Hatchbacks arent so lucky.
And with the hatchback. Where the floor bars from the from are you have to cut a little into the rear paneling. Well atleast i did. You can kind of see what i'm talking about in my pictures near the seat belt piller
nihkon, great picture... is that your car? or off a site? I wish i could find a used autopower bar to fit my specs b/c id like to get it coated in a different color but looks like im going to have to bite the bullet and go new. wish they would offer other finishes than black, or at least cheaper for the un-coated bar.
I have another question, it may be answered somewhere in here, but well we are on topic: I have a 91 Si, as you all know it has door mounted seat belts. After gutting the whole car I realized there is already pre drilled, with threads, holes on the passenger side. Not so lucky on the drivers side tho. My question is what is the best way of mounting a harness on the drivers side?? I know the top half can go around the autopower bar, but where can i mount the eyelet bolts for the lower half to install the harness on the drivers side? Any advice is appreciated, sorry if its confusing.
