I wish I had money right now to mess with my car.

Clutch is slipping now
and I still have this dead weight c5 that needs cams and a rebuild, couldn't turn the crank so I think the pistons seized

Alright guys...need some help.
I am getting ready to buy a b16 cabel tranny for my b18. I found one for $280...no known problems with the tranny. I am thinking about going with lsd because my next investment on the car is going to be turbo. So anyways I was looking at the OBX LSD for $400.
Now I found a guy locally that I know pretty well that said he would install the new LSD for $200. Thats also pulling the trans apart and checking all the dog teeth and cleaning them up if there are any burs.
What do you guys think...is all that sound like a good deal? What should I do HT...I am lost when it comes to trannys.

as far as the install on the LSD sounds like a good price. I had one local guy say he was going to charge me $180 to take a part, install gears and put back to together my transmission.
Maybe its just me but I wouldn't cheap out on a LSD if your going to do it might as well go big and get a Kaaz or a quaife lsd

I've heard some bad things about Quaife lately (change in ownership, etc.)

Can anyone verify?

The new Mfactory LSD's look quality, and the price is just about right

*edit*

Btw, does anyone know where the heck HatchMo (Ben) is? I bought some stuff from him a few months back, and last reply I got from him was about a month ago saying that he forgot to ship things out.

Ouch. Hope he gets back to me soon. If not, live and learn I guess. I just hate scammers, but too much on my plate right now to deal with it.

Anything new with your ride James? I finally got back home and slapped my EE9 bumper + license plate bracket on. Looks pretty slick .

If you decide to go with an OBX lsd, i believe there is a guy in the trans/drivetrain forum that offers a rebuild kit. As soon as you take it out of the box it should be disassembled, inspected, and reassembled with the parts in the kit. After that, it seems to be an 'ok' unit. Personally, I still wouldnt use one...at least go with an oem itr unit or higher quality aftermarket.
