Once they enable the search feature, you will have a "Recent Topics" button again. They don't have search on because they don't want to overload the servers, yet.
70% of online forums use vBulletin. I don't like it, but it's gonna stay. IB owns vB and there were legal issues with them using Zeroforum. Another reason for the change is that ZF hasn't had software updates in 6-7 years.

This is so wrong... but it is what it is.. im glad i found this thread at least.. no way will i be able to get back all the info i had saved in messages and whatever... probably wont post up nearly as much or even come on here just b/c its now too much work!!

maybe im retarded but the ease of use with the original forum was awesome...unlike a lot of other people that go to other forums and have used this before, I have never.

I think it's fair to say the basic layout and ease of use are the only advantages of ZF over vB. I'm learning the new features of vB, and I must say, there are some major improvements.

Damn, just realized I lost all my saved correspondence and notes I had in my folders - parts#'s etc. Crap.
I haven't looked, but I assume from all the unhappy people, we also lost access to some saved/archived content?

It certainly hasn't been as smooth as they had hoped. Although, today is about a billion trillion times better than yesterday. The "missing" threads have been restored, avatars and search is on the way, truncated posts have been restored and several other issues have been resolved. It's getting there. Aesthetic stuff will come later. I think they plan on simplifying things so it feels more ZF-ish.
