The Official EF Discussion Thread
It will be driven if I can ever find me a fricking front bumper. I can't drive it around here, otherwise, police will pull me over for it.
Anyway, since I need to get new struts. What do you guys think of this as a alternative choice for now until I have money for full coilovers?
Skunk 2 Struts.

Low and slow is fine, lol it's not a waste of an ef, but it's just not the full potential. I love my suspension setup, I just need nicer tires...
From what I've read, those skunk 2 struts I've showed are short bodied already and the rates match the skunk 2 coilovers but I'm sure it'll match a few that are out there.
$299.99 on ebay with free shipping not bad at all.

nah the price is reasonable i guess. im goin with skunk2 coils in a couple weeks. my springs just arent low enough for me. i m willing to sell them if anybody wants them.
damn u would be mad at me then. i just swapped my manifold saturday for the skunk2 and it took me 3 ina half hours :p
Essentially the volts should be higher at the alternator with it running vs. at the battery correct? Yeah, I can't remember how I used to pull alternators on swapped ef's. If it's bad I'll go ahead and replace the balljoints I've been avoiding.

but then u can dial it out with a chamber kit, so would that still be considered to low? also, how do you know its not helping being that low? I just want some suggestions as to why its not good for performance. I'm not trying to start a fight here just wondering what other peoples opinions are.
The reason a slammed suspension kills a cars performance is because of suspension travel. Too low and you're riding on the cut bumpstops. If you were on the track and hit a bump(or even the street) the car would jump and you may lose control.
You want to have it lower than stock, but still high enough to have some shock travel.

the only to know for sure is to go to the track and see...when you lower it enough that your times start suffering or you start getting excessive tire wear from your wheels rubbing, then you know...on the street, there's no real way to tell, unless you count slamming into pot holes or the inability to go over any type of bump w/o scraping

It all depends on how the car is built and suspension as well. Most track cars and low for less drag. A lot of times that have bigger/larger wheel wells so you can even tell theyare that low because the tires is still visuable.
Several of my buds are tryin to convince me my crx needs to be a track ****, but for now it's a street ****..
@Alanicious I'm not tryin to offend your car, but I just gave up on the consequences of riding that low, or being anywhere near that ride height. Now if another car can rock that low and not kill it's underbody or tranny or header or yeah ... the list goes on then sure that low's fine for the street. It sure makes putting bikes on top of the car easy
Suspension travel isn't really necessary, unless you're seeking comfort, which I was. I was also seeking protection for the new engine etc.
