your best bet is to do an open track day/HPDE , with instructors, etc.

we (chris from EF honda mainly) run an event every year at Gingerman raceway, in michigan, and we've probably had several hundred people introduced to tracking because of it.

find the closest track, and figure out how to get on track there. most tracks have LOTS of instructor-staffed HPDE style events.

You could start by autox and see where that takes you, typically it is much cheaper (at the expense of seat time) and there are always people who are knowledgeable about organized motorsport in general. Another good thing is to just go an spectate at an event, you can generally tag along as someones pit guy to learn the ropes.

Isn't there a track in upstate NY somewhere?

Having trouble getting my skunk2 front upper arms in.. its just 2 bolts going through 2 holes i know! Am i supposed to tighten the nut/bolt(not the upper nuts in the bay, and not the castle but, the other 2 on the sides) that hold the actual arm before or after bolting it to the car. They just wont line up to the oem holes either way that i try it.

twist the mounting studs until it fits in. For some reason they are out of line with the holes, but just twist them a little in opposite directions and it will slide right in.

skunk2 control arms are difficult because they are bigger ive heard of alot of people saying they hit the tower because there so much bigger i wold sugest taking the top control arm braket off install the side bolts then you will know if the holes line up u might have the wrong control arms but if they line up bolt them up and reinstall the braket with the control arm bolted to it good luck...

Any idea what those side bolts should be torqued to? seems very tight to get in there to tighten those bolts after its mounted. Ill give it another try tomorrow.

It was the drive through Kentucky that killed it. But don't put it past good ol Indiana to get down on some rallying. haha lol
