not latching it down properly before going 30 mph

my latch cable gets stuck sometimes. And I guess the shop didn't know that before they test drove the car

Mine does the same thing. Just started recenly though. I was leaving a meet and got on the freeway and seen it flopping around. Luckily it didn't wait until I got some speed. My hood is cf though so maybe it wouldn't do so much damage hope I never find out.

And what shop was your car in and why

was swapping out my motor.
I wasn't that mad because I got a free 7lb clutch flywheel combo out of it. Plus it my homies shop. I always take my car to them when I need help for the past 5 years. The whole day I was sitting there thinking "they are going to forget to fully latch the hood" and then called me.

"hey james how much does a hood cost"
"why"
"I just wanted to know how much a hood cost"
"they are around $250, who is this"
"alright you got a free flywheel"
"is this jerry? what the hell you guys forgot to close the hood"
"yeah but your car halls *** though"

i'v heard the average life span for that battery isn't very long, about 2 yrs max? my buddy has one and he needs to buy a new one again. Might want to look into getting a miata battery as they are small, sealed, and some what light compared to the stock battery.

Lol. You should have called them and told them not to forget. I know I would.

And on a side note I hate my 7lb flywheel. Sucks trying to drive it at a steady speed. But it is nice not having to rev match gears. Sometimes the revs match up so quickly I have to blip the gas to see if its in gear

I had a problem like this once. On the freeway in the middle of nowhere and all of the sudden I would see a little puff of smoke coming from under the dash. The first time I thought it was my imagination...then it happend again. "WTF?! Why here and now!?" Small amounts of oil was dropping onto my header, causing smoke to come through the firewall and looked like it was coming from under the dash.

downshifting you rev match so its easier on the tranny.

3rd gear to 2nd - clutch in, neutral, blip throttle, clutch in,2nd gear. at least, thats how i do it

Exactly what he said /\

Its the same as heel-toe downshifting but without using the brakes. Easier on the trans plus it allows you to get in gear faster in case you need to accelerate.

How well does a aftermarket bumper cover fit? I seen some brand new ones on ebay. But I don't know if they are any good. I gave up and ask because I can't find any used oem bumpers anywhere anymore.

Ai HAVE A 96 B18C1 NOW...WITH 2000 ITR CAMS. I DON'T KNOW IF THAT IS GOING OT MAKE A BIG DIFFERENCE.
STILL DEBATING IF I SHOULD GET THE CAR BAR'D THEN PUT THE ITR HEAD ON TOP. BUT THE MONEY WOULD BE NICE RIGHT NOW.

I'LL TRY THAT REV MATCHING THING. DOES SOMETHING I SHOULD HAVE BEEN DOING ALONG TIME AGO. I HEAR ABOUT PEOPLE KEEPING THEIR FOOT ON THE GAS WHEN THEY SHIFT.
BUT WON'T THAT CAUSE THE CAR TO OVER REV??

Full throttle shifting is gay. It can be helpful in boosted setups to reduce lag between shifts though. Rev matching is normal and helps your clutch/flywheel and tranny. I actually heel-toe when I rev match but I dont do it the traditional way. I put the left side of my foot on the brake and roll it onto the gas to rev match while braking. I have better control of the brakes this way. I've noticed that rev matching also makes me get a couple MPG less. Probably due to the o2 readings the ecu gets when you blip the throttle to gets the revs up to where they should be.

heel-toe doesn't seem to work too good with size 13's

on a side note...paying for premium sux when regular is under $2

why dont you use the stock-car harness?

most people mod the factory chassis to work with the engine swap
