If I'm going to spend $8-10K on a swap, you can bet I'm not using a Dodge or VW rad.

Why dont people use eg half rads? They work perfect in egs and ek, and u can easily make brackets to hold it off a fullrace bar....**** i let the cat out of the bag.

A nice, dual core, aluminum rad can be had for a fair price. It justs requires new taps to be welded up; or, you could use the Innovative, K series x-member with an EG rad, in the up-right position.

Fullrace+two 3/4x3/4 metal tabs welded on. Cant be scared to whio out the welder time to time

Lol the only problem is water is 8lbs per gallon, do u wanna add that much coolant to your system?

Here are some ways to make that K-swap cheaper:
Re-use the stock x-member, modified, of course. That'll save you $250-400.
Then re-use the OEM fuel rail, there's another $120-$140.
What does a B16 swap cost? $1200? You can get an entire K20A3 swap for that much. Then you've got, at least, the same hp, and way more torque. Combine this with oem base RSX axles, unchipped JDM ECU, and the two "re-use" suggestions I said before, and you've got a nice swap for not a whole lot more than a B-swap. Then you could upgrade the tranny and long block later on.

and lines too....hmmm scratch that.......
guess the half rad would work......
only thing I dont like about the K is that the intercooler piping.......meh, Id have to run the IPS manifold

Say you go swap a B series, upgrade the header, get the best mounts, get a traction bar, upgrade your fuel system, get some good axles, get a programmable ECU, get an intake, then upgrade the radiator all at once. Bam, you've spent $8-10k. </TD></TR></TABLE>
half that maybe.
a quarter of that if you are good at buying/selling.
local/friend of mine built a gsr coupe that ran a 13.3 and dynoed at 178whp for 1400 just by getting parts from people for the right price/selling for the right price/good business. total of 1400 out of pocket, chassis included.
lets see a kswap happen on that kind of budget.

It can't be done legally.
The K swap is quite expensive, this is true. That is partly why I've had my car for a year and it's not running yet. That and the fact that I decided to do a full build up, paint, fab, and complete overhaul. It'll take me years to complete at this rate, but I don't spend all of my money on my car. Supporting 3 people on a single income is more important.

I read a F/s thread about these guys selling a a2 drop out.....cheap....from a totalled car...dudes got there to pick up motor and the owner rushed him in the garage real quick......there sat the RSX-S......totally mint.....20K something miles on it...the dude told them the motor was still in the car and they would have to help him get it out....when they got there he told them to go to ACE hardware and get a sawzall and cut the front clip off...........they left and called the cops....the dude was trying to pull an insurance scam.....true story.

and as for this radiator speak
just look for a hot rod place that sells aluminum radiators by dimension...and most of them you can pick where the hose necks need to be. than it is just a matter of tig'ing on some feet for the lower mounts. you can easily find one and do the little extra work to make a 100 dollar aluminum radiator fit better than a 400 super jdm special koyo radiator.
also as fara as the k20a3 swap being cost effective there is one thing that i just can't bring myself to do...cut up my frame. to make that setup fit you have to do the new bracket on the rail, and the shifter box. both of these are non reversible. i like the security of knowing that if a cleaner better chassis comes along i can just dump a single in whatever i have and walk away clean.

Anything is reversible with a decent welder. Those are minor things, easily reversed.

to an extent.
its more work than dropping the b out and bolting the d in. and that is assuming you didn't severely maim the original pass bracket when removing it.

thats why I purchased the car I did...........a hatch for a K it wasnt a K for a hatch....I bought the car to cut up for a K...If i sell it the K goes with it....but I doubt honda will come up with anything as Dynamic as the K....so when its dont I will keep it forever
