Say you go swap a B series, upgrade the header, get the best mounts, get a traction bar, upgrade your fuel system, get some good axles, get a programmable ECU, get an intake, then upgrade the radiator all at once. Bam, you've spent $8-10k.
It's not that the K is that much more expensive, it's that you HAVE TO upgrade all these things up front to make it work. Most would agree, the upgrades are desirable.
In my case, I'm doing a ground up build with no deadline, so I can afford to take my time, save, and do it all at once. I look foward to the day I can drive it to work, get 35mpg, then take it down to the track and run 11s all motor. Plus, it's 220whp with DD reliability (not that mine will ever be daily driven). </TD></TR></TABLE>
I dont know man, if I had 8 to 10k to spend on a b series it would spank on most K's out there. I have around 8k into my swap but that's after 2 blown engines which put me behind a few grand.
I see what you mean about the DD reliability with the K. That would be the main reason for me to switch over to a K. The MPG is great, plenty of power, and very reliable. You can have your cake and eat it too with a K!
The only thing I want to see is the price come down a bit before I even consider it! If I could do a k20 swap for around 7k I would probably do it!

You can use an ITR/CTR ecu which neither have an Immobilizer. The mounts are about $550, your kinda stuck there. Unless, you could borrow someone's K mounts and mock up your own. You're a machinist, you might see what I'm getting at.

anyone ever have a clutch cable stretch but not break? or the bushing on the end of the clutch cable compress because of an aggressive pressure plate?
trying to figure something out.

Shakes head, in the scientific community we spread ideas, thus opportunity for our peers to criticizes our ideas and thus feedback leading to improvement. Thats just my two cents. If its secret then why hint? Its like look at me, wait im not telling you.....

Whats wrong with keeping my ideas secrets in order to maintain originality in a word full of replica's, duplicates, and cookie cutter, eBay, JDM'd out cars.
All I said was I didn't care to share my plans yet. I had no intention of teasing, or drawing attention to myself, contrary to your conception of my comment. A few of my e-friends and I like to kid around about things. If we're not having fun, why do it?
