That is the best way to open up the engine bay. Maybe I'm too lazy to do all that extra work though. I'm also not a fan of wire tucking. It looks bad ***, but I prefer access to stuff in case of a problem. </TD></TR></TABLE>
Actually its much easier to work on your engine with a wire tuck. Think about not having all of that spaghetti in the way when trying to get to those tight spots. Auto manufacturers didnt design the harness to be mechanic friendly, they designed and built them that way to keep the costs down. It costs much more to engineer and produce things in a modular setup.
<TABLE WIDTH="90%" CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=0 ALIGN=CENTER><TR><TD>Quote, originally posted by civicandy »</TD></TR><TR><TD CLASS="quote">Plus I think it's easier to pull the motor with the entire harness on, and I like to be able to unplug it easily. If you do a good job on the wiring of a swap, it will look like it was always there. It looks good on show cars though. Hopefully it will pass like the West coast trend of plastering stickers all over the windows.</TD></TR></TABLE>
My engine harness stays on when I pull my motor. It takes less than 5 minutes to have all of my electrical disconnected. Even if I was building a track car I would still do a wire tuck!
If its a trend than I'm really trendy for clean cars that are built right!

Agreed. I'm going to do a very mild wire tuck, but I don't plan to move the fuse block. It is definatly easier to work with less stuff in the way, but I'm not building a show engine bay. Basically the only people who see it is me and kylefakesir

Honestly I'm sick of all this trend talk! Anything you do to your car can be considered a trend. Just being in the Honda scene is a trend in itself. By that way of thinking why do any modding to our cars at all!!

I didnt mean it was bad trendy thing, but after seeing so many bays tucked and mine nice and mint (if i had a shitty looking wires i would of tucked them). It kinda seems better in my case to leave it untucked. That is all im saying, dont act like there is sand in your vag and ****. I

There's nothing wrong with a clean oem bay if that's the look you are going for. The impression I got from both you and civicandy is that you were too lazy to put in the effort and were justifying it by calling it trendy.
There are alot of tucked bays out there but in the grand scheme of things there really arent that many. I know I havent seen them all but my guess is there are less than a hundred tucked bays and even fewer shaved bays. I could be wrong though as I dont go to many shows!

Im not lazy at all, (ok maybe when im REALLY stoned) im accually doing my freinds harness for his k20 crx, we are gutting everything and pulling out every wire that isnt need. Then with the little left over its getting tucked. Like i said i have alot of respect for it, i enjoy looking at them, but for my crx, its staying oem.

Yeah I actually enjoy looking at really really clean oem bays as well, but it must be super clean otherwise nothing stands out. Eric, aka fourthgenhatchB17, had the cleanest oem bay I had ever seen on an EF and I gave him props for it. Now he even has a mildy tucked bay lol!
I guess it comes down to how **** you are about your car! I have OCD when it comes to my engine bay hence the wire tucked and shaved bay. I still have more I want to do!

Its fairly clean but it could be cleaner. Maybe the pics dont do it justice! When I mean clean I mean every single hose, wire, bracket, and painted surface is immaculate. But yours looks good.
Now you be the judge on mine.

Thanks for the compliment! However, i think u have a lot more man hours into your engine bay with all that shaving and painting going on, lol. Too bad im not a paint and body guy or else mine would be shaved and sprayed as well.

It still isnt as clean as I want it. I will be removing the wiper motor and windshield cleaner resevoir and hiding the overflow tank. I will be switching to a fluidyne radiator like yours too. I still have alot to do!

I wasn't trying to say I'm lazy. I've done all the work on my car by myself so far, except some of the wiring. I just don't want to do a full wire tuck. However, they do look much better than a engine bay full of crap. On a super clean show car, you need a tucked bay.
