You can't use a Cert-a-fit filler because it will not match with a jdm rear bumper. If you are getting the whole preped then it will be included in the price. If I had to replace and it was in the same condition then yeah it would cost $$
</TD></TR></TABLE>
FYI, it is possible to make a USDM rear filler work in conjunction with the ef9 rear bumper. I have a USDM rear filler on mine.
Also, with the jdm rear filler you will need to shave the existing key hole (for the trunk) and re-drill a few inches over since the US and JDM ones are in different locations (why Honda did this i dont know
). Combine that with straightening out a tweaked piece to begin with and its just not worth it.

The hood is constructed from thin gauge metal and is very tough/time consuming like a mother to "just smooth dents out."
I would love to see some of your guys' "repaired" OEM metal SiR hoods and I'll let u know if its "clean" or not, LOL.

yup its hard as hell to get it looking good....i dont have any before pics but my hood was fucked up like crazy when i got it....wes v helped me repair it and it looks alot better but def not perfect...heres some pics
end result could def use more work

Steffn, not bad man!
Hey if Wes helped on it, its gotta be good or at least a whole lot better than before.
Its possible to get these hoods clean as ****, but if you have to pay a shop to do the time consuming labor, its just gonna cost way too much.

geeze i was starting to think I was the only one who went through with getting a hood repaired
it can be said hey you're going the cheap route or it can be said they're other options other then CF or buying a brand new one

I never understood why the hell it was like that either. I'm just going to fill the hole. I hardly pop my trunk anyway. Plus its one less way for a thief to enter your car
how did you make it fit btw??

To go the full 9 yards with it, its more expensive than buying a CF hood! Scroll back to where i stated how much i was quoted to repair an OEM metal hood. It really wasnt that bad either (damage wise)!

Did u add this question after u posted? I didnt see it at first, odd.
Anyway, i simply spaced it out from the car. Bolt the filler down on the sides, but use the spacers in the middle. It basically creates more of an arc or a bend to compensate for the bumper. Mine isnt 100% perfect (my standards), but then again no one has ever questioned it.

ohhh damn
I didn't see that price..yeah for that much I would have just sourced a brand new one. But still shipping from overseas you are with out a doubt going to get some damage on delivery because they could care less that its JDM or not.
Plus your baller and probably wanted it OEM Paint or color matched. Me I say fix it then rattle can the summabitch

aren't you getting your car painted??
well not anytime soon cuz you said '09 but I think the shop should include that in the body work
But that just what I think.

Yeah it's getting painted in Feb-Mar. I spoke to the owner of a body shop (he actually made a special trip out to my office to take a look at the hood, I had it shipped there) and he advised against having it fixed. He's been in the business for countless years, his shop does 150+ cars per month, and he probably has a couple million $ to his name, so I'll take his word for it.
I have a friend in Norcal who sourced it for me from another shop, a third party.
