ROFL. Actually, I think the reason their safety standards aren't as high as ours is because they don't have the American, "bigger is better" mentality so everybody doesn't drive 5000lb SUVs. Small cars can run into small cars and not cause much damage. They also tend to be very limited on space so they have narrower streets and narrower parking places (hence the folding mirrors) in compact cities. (Imagine moving the entire population of the U.S. into California.) They travel at lower speeds thus no need for stringent NTSB regulations.

Yep, they buy huge SUVs they don't need with money they don't have to impress people they don't know!
In 2006, the average American spent $1.22 for every dollar they made. That was the first time it had happened since the great depression of the 1930s.
In 2006, the average Japanese person saved 18.2% of what they made.

Their tech was an absolute joke. One of the Honda's in my class had his fire extinguisher attached to the roll bar by zip ties!!! The rules stated it must be attached to the car by nuts and bolts.
They also said they required fire extinguishers and driving suits in Modified class and I saw people without either, or.
Remind me why I wasted money on a driving suit then?

Too many people in general operate on this Mantra. And I think we all get caught up in it at one point or another in our life. But when you realize your happiness doesnt hinge on what strangers think of you, you break away.
My mother in law is exactly like the above quote, then wonders why they dont have genuine friends.
eh. Oh well.

I always thought it was because they're so many of them, that they really don't care if 1 or 10 get in a car crash and die because they are being replaced every 30 seconds
what is the population over there anyway

The Boot
Road racing is probably my next major venture. Not really to compete but to just experience it for myself.
