Okay guys I have to ask a question of you, and it seems this is the place with the guys that really know the EF's.
I posted up previously about lucking out into a free 89 Si Civic with a b16 swap, oem, stanley clear corners, all OG floor mats, Bilstein HD shocks, Eibach springs and all 4 mud guards. Car needs a hood, bumper support, driver headlight and filler piece. And definately a good cleaning and respray later (white Si).
Anyway, I was previously working on my 91 CRX and had the orig A6 motor rebuilt with new dist, waterpump, etc with ZC non vtec head and cam, added DC header, GC/Koni Susp, and sparco seat.
I was always reluctant on doing anything too major to the crx because it was really clean. When I bought it, it was a one owner car - had the original headunit and didnt even have an alarm installed. All orig paint and the stock Si swirls.
It was orig gonna be a track ****, but again, it was just too clean an intact to pull apart.
Now I have the civic, that will be the main project car. I figure I'll be pulling some stuff back off the crx and may be putting it into storage for a bit while I work the civic.
my question is - do you think it makes any difference if I put it all back to OE stock as I can, and store it, OR if i leave some stuff like the header, Bilstein HD/Eibach combo - you know minor stuff on and store it away?
I keep everything I pull from a car when I work on it, so it's not like I'd toss any pieces I've pulled, if anything, I would get a plastic bin, label the parts and put it in the trunk while in storage.
EDIT: Short version, if storing a car for collecting purpose, it it better if it's as close to OE stock as possible, or are some minor mods expected?

Typically unmolested crx's have a higher value when they are stock, but a few minor bolt on's like a header or springs probably won't make a difference since they are easy to replace with oem parts.

Okay, that was what I needed. I'm very tempted to mess with both, but have found it much harder to find replacement parts for the crx than the civic. At most I wanted to do just a clean 90's street look with a set of SSR's, spring shock combo, and header/exhaust. - just clean and simple.
plus, the civic may have a salvage title attached, so it makes me more willing to do what ever I want to it - and not go crazy budget wise.
AND DAMNIT JOE! you just had to put your seats up for sale now huh? I would really like them for my crx, as i do have a small hole in my drivers side, but I just dont have cash - or anything worth trading you for them.
And 408wdy - awesome job, did you do that on all usdm pieces or get donor jdm doors and go from there?

stephn - your car is **** on those 265's - I've always liked those to the chagrin of many friends.
And yours looks clean - dont knock yourself. Admitedly, I was trying to make the car a lot of things clean and simple like how i would have done it back in 91 - but i also wanted to track prep it for my future plans.
so now this works out perfect, a civic i can play with freely and a crx I can K.I.S.S.

If you polish them it makes them look like you are actually trying to rock some super dope wheels.
I was thinking about it though
