I know that thats vague, but test them
Craftsman jacks are trash
They last a year, and then they pee oil allover your garage

I've got a cheap 2.5 ton trolly jack from craftsman. i bought it when I was broke in college because it was the only one I could get under my crx, and it was cheap. It still works well, but takes alot of pumps to get it up. (thats what she said)

Craftsman jacks aren't trach dude...you, Richard, and I used the SH*T out of that thing. It's pratically an elderly **** star. If only I used MY jack, it would still work to this day...but sharing is caring.
Maybe YOU should take MY jack to the nearest Sears Service Center and get those seals replaced.

tough call, but I would probably do it if the CF hood is in really good condition. The only thing is that damage on a metal hood is easier to fix than damage a CF one.
