but does it have original paint?

even if it has 29K original miles, that means it's had what.... 6 oil changes in 20 years?

are you getting upset? it's not even your car.

it's something to think about when an older car has low mileage. it's been sitting through weather changes year after year. cold, hot, cold, hot. same coolant, same oil.

that car's from DC. its not cool, warm, cool, warm. but if you want to buy the car.... i'm not stopping you.

$88/hr. for some junk.

oxygen sensor - $88 labor
top engine cleaner - $88 labor
computer diagnostics - $88 labor.

NO LUBE listed on that invoice either.

plus the $60 for the top engine cleaner. I used to sell those for $10 a can. LOL @ shop supplies fee.

</TD></TR></TABLE>

LMAO, where i used to be the labor rate was 130$/hr.

I use GM's top engine cleaner. Its like 25$ and works beautifully...better than anything else Ive ever used.

Stefn is right. The Race one has the diagonal brace, and even still, some don't have the harness bar. It depends on how you order it from Autopower. My friend has the race bar, but no harness bar. Some come with a bolt-in harness bar that you can remove to improve access to the back seats. Mine was the race 6-pt with the harness bar on the driver's side.

Speaking of cages and harness bars, when I get the time (actually when the weather is better) I'm going to cut this out and put it up for sale. It's an 8pt cage made of DOM tubing and is good for 10.0 and higher NHRA. The fitment couldn't be any better. I spent about $800 for it, but I plan to sell it for about half that or less.

Okay, i think maybe i didnt make myself clear - if I kept the interior, I would only install a harness bar and race seat for event days, and just run without it for streeting.

Otherwise I was considering guting it and either running the autopower bar you guys are mentioning with the diag bar and harness bar OR going to a shop I know that preps scca/roadcourse cars and getting a proper bar built without the interior.

the car is considered a salvage at this point - so I'm not planning on making it a show car by any means, I intend to fully use it.

Have any of you guys had a rebuildable car totaled out before?

you would honestly be better off with just a non-fixed(like recaro srd style) reclineable bucket seat and stock seatbelt's...harness bars are really unsafe and a fixed bucket with stock belts wont work properly

Man i think that's what's got me so *** backard. I would figure a stripped out crx with a good swap = track toy and a cleanly modded EF/Ed civic would be a good cruiser.

I have both - and they're in backwards condition, lol. CRX minty fresh w/stock power so dont want to just go beat on it and civic pretty rough but workable with the swap.

I guess i cant really complain, I just kinda myself sometimes, lol.

BUT...if that crx was mint, would it be your street toy? trick question.
