I love So Cal more and more everytime I see snowy Honda pictures.
It might cost more to live out here, but its worth it.
we save on rust repairs and can drive our cars year round.

You'll never get the fun rally-like experience you get driving in the snow, lol... I love e-braking turns.. besides that though it really sucks putting your beloved car through winter.

well we dont use salt in cali so cars dont rust so much from snow. snow gets old driving in, crx owns the snow, but a rwd corolla with rt-615's doesnt

Don't act like he doesn't have a point.
I mean...You and I both know that a B-Series engine won't have an oil pan sitting 4 inches above the pavement like the K-Series does in every 1990's chassis it's swapped into.
Now that I think about it, I remember the B-Series swap in an ED chassis still sits pretty gosh darn low, but it can still easily be daily driven. I couldn't daily drive a K-Series ED here in LA for fear of destroying the oil pan, but then again, I feel the K-Series swap into the ED or DA chassis is utterly pointless from a rigidity standpoint in the first place. Our old chassis (in stock form) really can't handle 250whp in a circuit racing situation. I would bet that a B-Series ED would outperform a K-Series ED with comparable modifications on the circuit, unless the chassis with the K-Swap was reinforced for increased rigidity.
A K-Series ED makes for an expensive drag car/street brawler, and I would've loved something like that 7 years ago.

I have more oil pan clearance with my K20 than I did with a B16. and that had a header protecting it too.
You guys can hate on the K motors all you want, I dont mind.
it's funny that all the K bashing in here is by people that havent experienced a k-powered car.
anyway, my comment towards deftones was a reply to his statement. just last week he was asking me about k-motors. that guy is more indecisive about his honda's than brittney spears is about rehab.

i dont see the difference between a 250whp B series and a 250whp K series except for more torque and better gearing in favor for the later. bringing up rigidity shouldnt even be up for debate, because i havent seen one roadrace car without an upgrade to their chassis regardless of powerplant. but i'd love to hear your theory as to why the K series into an ED/EF chassis is 'pointless'.

The b series is just cheeper, Ive seen only one k car (k20ef8), and he never got on it so idk. What 1/4 time would a k swap IHE run in a crx?

better be deep into the 12s, or you're doing something wrong. hell, bart ran 12s on street tires.
220+whp with bolt ons...... come on, that's a no-brainer.
might as well stick to D-series, it's cheaper.
as for B-series being cheaper, it should be. it's an old motor. the newest used B motor is 7 years old. and to make the kind of power that a k motor puts out stock, a B motor would need to be torn apart and rebuilt. then the price of the aftermarket internals would cost as much as a k motor. K-series heads STOCK outflow the best ported B series head any day of the week. etc. etc. etc. there are reasons why people are 'jumping on the bandwagon'. that bandwagon is a better platform.
...and don't bring up boost, you can boost any motor and make power.

Hello Fellas, I know I havent been on here for a while. I have a question for everyone. For a JDM front end what USDM T-bar would possibly be used. (Its not for my car if anyone is curious.) Thanks again.
all usdm t bars are the same for the crx/hb iirc. they can be used but need to be spaced out 1/2 inch i believe.. you dont have to do that with a jdm t-bar.. btw i have a jdm t bar if you know someone who needs it.

I don't think it's a hate thing. The main difference between d, b and k is money. Some people don't want to spend $5000+ for a k swap into a $1000 car, or hack up the the engine bay. Don't get me wrong, I would love a k swap, but like most of the guys in here, we have other places to spend the money. So, like chad said, we put in a b series. Reliable, relativly cheap hp, and the chassis was designed for it.

Price is the only drawback of the K series.

we just have to drive to the snow in the 'mountains'. we dont have to live in it though. ive done my fair share of snow-donuts.
