Yeah, that's true. My late grandfather was very wealthy and owned a few different companies that had contracts through the military. He drove a rusted out beat to hell 1980 something Jeep that looked like it had been sitting in a field for a while haha.

 

Yeah my z6 moves pretty good too I would say, its not underpowered when I'm revving it, maybe a bit down low it lacks torque sure but its not slow at all. It could beat a lot of newer cars... Too bad I dont race on the streets and get 45mpg instead

 

to some people cars are just a way to get from point A to point B. its just stupid how someone can hate on someone for having a single cam. to be honest, i liked my z6 turbo setup more than i did either one of my b swaps. it made more power and i got better gas mileage

 

No kidding I stopped giving a crap about racing on the street about 6 years ago........hence the reason why im looking to "downgrade" from my 325whp LS to a bone stock R motor lol

I personally agree with having a z6, I have a family all I want is to still have my hatch and be able to get around... Used to daily a jdm d15b until it blew... Rebuilding a z6 now but I think I have the wrong tranny lol... Either way just want to drive something other than my camry...

Is the tranny of the jdm equivalent to a dx or cx still s20? Because I have some s20... But rpms fell heavilly when shifting... It was annoying shifting at 7k rpms fell to like 3 :/

 

People care about how fast their cars are, its not about money. If everyone had that mindset we would be doing other things with our money. I drive 50 miles a month in my "shitbox" because I could careless to drive it on the street and potentially have some ******** steal it from me. Internet street cred? Lol ok

 

An all motor 12 second car is a little different.....

 

18lbs on the LS motor.....small turbo on high boost is funner than big turbo on low boost lol Im into windy back roads though and the turbo is a little scary........traction is pretty much an issue any time you roll on the throttle.


If I go K it will be an RSX S motor but most likely I will just go with a B18c5 because of cost and ease of hooking up PS, A/C, CC etc.

 

Sarcasm? Lol if I lived in the sticks I wouldn't have an issue driving it. The thievery issue is a problem around these parts. An insurance check isn't going to get me my car back.

 

I enjoy my car everday of my life, its not a garage queen. If you were to actually build a car, and use it, then you would see where I'm coming from. I think its stupid to build a car and have it sit in the garage 99% of the time, so I can see why you think its stupid to throw money into that as well. If its a drag/track car then its a differenty story, but then again I would drive that on the streets that as much as I could. Internet street cred? .

I wasn't being sarcastic at all. If you have a 12 second all motor car, I wouldn't expect you to go cruising to work in it and risk it getting stolen or totaled. My car isn't fast at all and really isn't worth that much money in parts, but I really don't want it to get stolen or wrecked, so I know where you are coming from man.

I wish I could say the same. I enjoy my car only because it isn't my daily. I hated that car when I had to drive it everywhere with no a/c, no tint, lack of reliability and thieves following me around. Back to the ole getting old thing.... I guess I'm getting soft, because a hatch on coilovers with no amenities at all isn't what I want to be driving to work everyday.

Thats great you enjoy your car every day but not every one does. I have to drive some thing I can carry a ladder, people, my dogs and looks professional. I cant take clients out in an old honda.

It was cool to daily my hatch when I was 23 but now that im a grown up its a toy. Same as a dirt bike, snowmobile or boat and im not the only person on here that feels that way. Is it stupid to buy any of those things? They just sit in the garage 99% of the time too. I can daily anything I want and I would not want to daily my 18 yr old hatch anyway lol I enjoy it on special occasions/weekends does that mean I should get rid of it?

 

I daily a truck too. Curbs and speed bumps don't phase me and if I get in a wreck the chances of me walking away are a lot higher than if I was in the Civic. The radio works, has A/C, PS, cruise, the CD player doesn't skip when I hit a bump and it gets great gas mileage NOT .

I see your car crew and raise you my car crew. It's a long story, but it's just a group of friends that hang out all the time. 78 BMW 320I, 93 MkIII Golf, 93 MkIII Jetta VR6, 92 MkIII vortech sc'd Golf, 90 G60 sc'd Corrado, my wife's TSX, an 04 Java Black STI, 02 Jetta 1.8T, 400WHP BMW 3 series, and a few other misc. cars. I gave up hanging out with Honda people for the most part for fear of my car getting stolen or someone trying to rob me....



I made one for my old Civic. I used foam board from lowes to lay it out and then traced the pattern on to a piece of MDF. I wish I had pics, but that was 8 years ago.....

 

werd. I have no radio, heat, a/c, wipers. On top of the fact that its louder than **** inside and ride is just a tad bit rough. I'll drive it to meets and **** but aside from that its more or less on the drag strip. I'll give props though if dudes got ***** to drive their cars around on the daily. Never had a car stolen from me and i'm not looking to find out so I play it safe. I need a newer summer daily anywho, my coupe is pretty beat up with a semi working heater till it reaches below 10degrees.. Contemplating a tsx, tl, or s2000.
