Good choice. I have a similar setup on my hatch, JDM dc2r 4-1 headers, cat and b-pipe, with EK9 axle back. Imo, the ideal setup for a street EG hatch

Fits perfect with no BS and sounds pretty alright.

RNRs looking good Josh. I THINK i liked the mr5 more though waiting on different pics lol.

That orange hatch used to make 700whp. Still can't figure out why the original owner parted it out

I do. Maybe its because mine isn't a huge bucket but its actually pretty darn comfortable. Its comfier than my OEM Si seat. Before my back would hurt when I would drive for long periods of time but now I can drive the same amount and not feel anything on my back. Its surprisingly comfortable.

You would think that its not comfortable but it is. Im sure some reclinable Recaros would be more comfortable but I can vouch for my bucket being comfortable. Hatchy69 drove my car for about an hour straight and he too was surprised how comfortable it is. He can vouch

The only downside is that you cant slide into your seat really. No biggie, takes me 1 second to get in vs half a sec. I just put my right foot in, get low, put my left hand on the left of the seat where the plastic part is where the door sits on top with my right hand on the steering wheel and drop myself in the seat. A lot easier than what it sounds like. That way keeps the seats bolsters from being ruined/ripped/discolored.

Check my thread for pics of it.

I vouch for the bucket. Just like he said only bad thing is getting in and out of it. Other then that it should be ok for daily driving.

Thanks for the feedback guys!

just curious, but what buckets did/do you guys run? I've only sat in the Recaro SPG and a Bride seat (can't remember the model). I found the SPG extremely comfortable to sit in compared to the Bride seat. The Bride felt like it was made for a 100lbs JDM girl (i'm only 160lbs btw, so i don't think i'm fat @ 5'10"!).

My dilemma is that i'm currently using the JDM DC2 Recaro's with Vision ultra-low rails. i love these seats as they match my interior and they are reclinable. I don't take passengers often at all, but i would hate to lose access to my rear area (not a fan of gutting the rear either) due to a bucket not easily moved out of the way.

Downsides to the DC2 Recaro's is that they're heavier than stock EG seats and the harness holes aren't the greatest for my Takata harness (and it's lacking the crotch strap hole if i wanted to add it in to my harness). Keep in mind, i only track a few times a year and it's nothing compared to the car being my daily...

A bucket would help out at my trackdays as i find the DC2 Recaro's don't hold enough anymore. The bucket will also be better for the harness holes and also lightweight. (my lapping days do not care that much about a seat that isn't FIA approved).

Of course, i'm only looking at these buckets cuz i've always wanted a set but was always on the fence about dailying them.

tough call....

oh, and these are the buckets i've been thinking about for the past while now:

I'm considering a bucket as well when I put a cage in my car. Doesn't seem to be much as far as sizes for fat people like myself lol.

Yeah that bucket is pretty expensive so it should at least be comfy! They don't seem to have much(any) padding so I would check with some better pictures or ask someone that has them.

Mine would look like that if I took the pads out. Brides usually have very little padding and yes they can be a bit uncomfortable from what I've seen due to the tight sizes, moderately high bolsters and thin padding.

I have heard that DC2s recaros are pretty heavy lol. I can picture it too. Its a shame but they do feel really nice for the street.

My bucket is pretty light. I picked it up with 1 hand without much effort, then when I had to take out my Si seat I had to use both hands and it was pretty heavy. I saved quite a few pounds.

I'm rocking a Cobra Imola 2 thats also FIA rated. It expired in 03 but still, you know that any seat that is FIA rated is pretty darn legit.

As you can see its not like you're going to be sitting at 90 degrees. Its got nice form to it.

I've sat in the seats on that red couch for about 30 mins while reading Honda Tuning they're pretty comfy, but i'm not sure how they'll feel like once mounted in a car...i'm thinking crawling in and out will suck...and i'm thinking my GF will murder me trying to get in and out...lol!!

i'm getting them for a great price as my buddy who has these wants my Recaro's as a trade plus some cash on my end.

dammit, i think i'm becoming a Mugen addict....

2x fixed back daily here, no problems as a driver, even for longer journeys.

You do get annoyed with passengers who aren't used to them sliding over the side bolsters though.

I cant stand them not matching though. So either match them up and suck up the pain, or have odd seats haha.

Oh and Mashimaro, the GF likes them lol. She'll get used to them
