Thanks man!
Your old IS probably had a lot bigger flatter area to mount the threaded studs that go through the plastic part. Cutting the hood was a piece of cake, but mounting the posts was terrible. I'm really **** about stuff and it was driving me crazy that I couldn't get them perfectly lined up.
I don't like to follow the trends, just built a car I dreamed of aesthetically and just slowly started cleaning things up. I've had it almost 6 years now..... The hood pins were a necessity since the factory located latch was starting to rip out of the fiberglass under structure. Nothing special under the hood.

Exactly. It flapped around pretty good at any speed over 50.
Thanks man, we like it a lot. She has wanted one since they came out and we finally broke down and bought one. Of course we couldn't leave it stock though haha.
10-12 hours? lol holy ****. I installed those on my old is300. It took 1-2 hours max. Key to doing it is cutting a hole smaller than the size you need. Then use the sanding wheel tip on the dremel. Done deal! Looks good though, i like those more than the regular ol hoodpins.

It's always a good idea to install hood pins on a carbon fiber hood. Don't want your hood to fly up on the interstate/freeway.

Yeah Slips, you should give me some pointers for a basic SOHC cleanup. My engine bay could look really nice but I could tuck a few things like the harness and get the block cleaned up, the VC painted, do something with the cam gear and whatever else.
Tums bay is mad clean too! You can tell the dude is legit, no crazy camber or crazy deep dish. Just a really flush setup

Sometimes fads come back, at least the good ones. Rotten_Egg's car FTW. Game smash.
Tum tum, digging the smoked lights
That used to be a fad but it proves to be timeless. And what's timeless to you is what defines your sense of style I guess.
