I got a brand new set of autozone axles the other day. When I backed out of my driveway and turned my wheel to the left the driver side one broke. It was brand new with zero miles on it. The axle and bearings got ripped out of the inner boot that connects to the intermediate shaft. I went to autozone and got another one for a 91 integra since it's lifetime warranty. I installed it earlier and this is what it looks like. The spindle nut isn't even torqued down to 50ft lbs and the inner boot is already stretched this much.

Info on the car : 92, b16a, 00 civic si hydro trans, sk7 half shaft.

Either autozone makes axles way too short, or I have the wrong half shaft. I know autozone axles suck, that's not the issue though. I've had their axles on my db1 for years with no issues. About a year ago I replaced my driver side axle on my da and 4 days later it broke at the inner boot, the same way this one did the other day. I'm really thinking my half shaft is too short. Any info guys please!
My car is parked along the curb infront of my house and I got a notice saying it's gonna get towed within 48 hrs if I don't fix it. I gotta figure this axle thing out. Thanks guys

The one I have is from a da. I think it's too short for my setup. I'm trying to find out if that's true or not

Ok well the one i've got is from a 92 since it's the stock on from the car. I don't wanna go spend a bunch of money for an oem axle and find out it's still too short cause my half shaft isn't the right length

Haha he's not exactly holding on to it. I called Saturday but it's prob already gone! I didn't ask any more info about it so if it's gone I'll get another one. It's gonna be a fun project. It already has been!

91b18a1ls if you have a 00si trans shouldn't you be using 94-01 Integra or 99-00 Si axles?

I guess. Everyone is telling me to get a dc half shaft and dc axle and i'll be good. I still have the stock half shaft and that's too short apparently. It has a female end on the driver side and the dc one has a both male sides, so I guess it's longer

they are the same i have a set of d/c axles and da ones they are both the same. the only difference there is; is the half shaft. and the drivers side axle. ones a male and female side to the male and male side. also if your thinking about length its about a quarter inch longer ... not enough to make a difference. on my teg im running 1 da axle and a dc axle .

Does anyone here run a backdoor intercooler? I want to get something a little more appropriately sized for my goals and wanted to see what you guys were doing.

I found this on google.

A guy was having a similar issue as me and he found out that an ef8 half shaft is 420mm compared to the da9 one which is 400mm. In inches that comes out to 16.53 and 15.74. Subtract the two and the difference is .79 so just a bit more then 3/4 of an inch. I'm thinking if I can find a genuine ef8 half shaft then that will fix my problem since the extra .79 of an inch will allow my axle to sit a bit closer to the hub. Any thoughts on that? Anyone know how rare and hard it might be to find a real ef8 shaft?

Back door would require lots of cutting to the frame, which is why I passed.
My CXRacing intercooler is holding up very well!

Hey guys, I was thinking about picking up a 1990 4 Door Integra GS, any tips? 133,000 miles and a clean title. It's an automatic for now at least. Anything that I should know? Are four door and coupe headlights interchangeable along with bumper lips and etc? Power windows and doors, should I worry about them going bad anytime soon? What's the word?

I wouldn't convert it anytime soon. I really need it just to get to school and to the gym for training. Converting can't be that hard...right?

you need
trans, pedal set, shift linkage, clutch cable, shifter and i think a manual trans mount and rear t-bracket. maybe axels.
