Moog is better than OEM, IMO. That's why they cost so much.

Just because MOOG parts cost so much does not mean they are better than OEM. I've seen MOOG parts just rebadged as a few made in Taiwan stuff and SANKEI Japan brand and whatever other brands they rebadge being an aftermarket brand. For certain suspension parts I'd stick with Honda OEM, most people won't understand OEM quality. If you think MOOG is better then so be it. It all really depends how you're setting the car up; rubber, I'd stick with Honda OEM/Mugen, Polyurethane; ES, Prothane (ease of replacing), Spherical for race only needs.

When I put the HONDA OEM rear trailing arm bushings in the rear felt way better than I've ever felt it before. I'd go with HONDA OEM for this.

thanks for the input matt. i knew a few of you have replaced your bushings before so thats why i was asking. i need to price out some oem bushings. maybe i'll do that tomorrow. i get pretty good prices at my local dealership since i used to work there. the parts guy i deal with still gives me my discount or better which is nice. ive been able to get oem parts cheaper than some of the crap they sell at the parts stores now days

i have a full es master bushing kit for the rest of the car already, but not sure if i want to use it or not. debating selling it and putting money towards new control arms, tie rods n ball joints and then oem bushings for whats left

Go ahead and use the ES bushings, they work perfectly fine. All new OEM bushings would cost you a FORTUNE and IMO is not worth the money. And keep in mind, that's coming from someone who buys everything from the dealer, nuts, bolts, clips...etc If I was made of money I'd go OEM but considering the cost and difficulty of installation compared to the ES, it's just not worth it.

And to whoever said that MOOG trailing arm bushings are better than OEM... can you please elaborate on why you feel that way? I didn't even know Moog made TA bushings, so I can't say that OEM is better, but I'm very skeptical. For full disclosure I'm using Mugen TA bushings.

Matt, I guess I never noticed before, but did you get your hatch shaved or was it like that when you bought it? I see no emblem holes

LOL, unfortunately it's just white tape over the holes that match the color of the car quite well. I got tired of seeing the holes in the hatch for now until I figure what I want to do as far as really shaving the hatch and holes in the rear and front.

thanks a lot for the input colin. i guess i'll just keep my es master kit and then pick and choose what i want to use out of it. i plan on getting new rear lower control arms so i wont have to worry with those bushings. out of curiosity, how much did the mugen bushings cost you?

here's the moog bushings i found...

I had ES ones, they felt weird n sloppy when going over bumps/cornering, replaced them with OEM and the you could definetly feel a difference in the rear

I guess I got a little carried away. I would definitely rate them as on-par without factoring in the price difference. Everything Moog makes that I have run has performed GREAT and most if not all of their parts come with a lifetime warranty. I have a set of their greasable tie rod ends which have yet to have an issue (and I'd hope not since the car has been on the road only on and off for a year or so) but I know if they DO fail, I can get them replaced for free forever. I ran the Moog RTA bushings on my last car and OEM on this car and I can say that they are about the same besides price.
