on the ps removal: I just pulled all my lines and let the whole assy. just breathe w/ no fluid at all. that's what a lot of the itr guys do that track their cars and I've had no problems for over a year. the fluid that goes through the pump apparently does not lubricate the rack itself.

LoL, lost my dump tube on 95 last night. Luckily I was in the fast like and it just went off into the shoulder. Guess I need to have another one made where it won't be soo long.
For you local guys, went to ISP last night for their weekly meet. ALOT of nice cars out, Skylines, Supra, Vipers, etc.

track car get rebuit alot. and tracks are cleaner than public roads. i dont think its a good idea to hve your rack just wide open. when you find out that it wasnt a good idea, its gonna be too late. if you just loop your lines and keep fluid in there its at least got some kind of protection and lubrication.
PM for details.
You need to basically unbolt the entire assembly and pull it forward to drop the motor out.
Sure it's the motor and not the resistor?
who ever told you this is wrong. All Honda power steering racks are lubricated through the actual fluid, or else people wouldn't loop the system, or run a reservoir on there looped system. Honda specific power steering fluid is required for a reason, because it directly lubricates the components in the rack.
one day your rack will seize up, with all that crud being able to get in there and the lack of lubrication.
anything that has a seal, or two metallic objects that slide in and out of each other or next to each other at close tolerances needs lubrication, where do you think your rack gets this..?
