I just did the outside. In the back it says "sand with 2000 grit" for the clear coat. Mine is peeling but i didn't sand it down. Only if you look closing you could tell the clear coat is peeling

i've been thinking of doing a muffler relocation, but i always have doubt on doing it because it might look weird and now that i've seen one i'm going to do it. just have to find a nice muffler though...

For those of you who have actually restored some oxidized headlights.

Did you just hit it with some 2000 grit, polish and clear and call it a day?

Just trying to get a feel for what paper I need to buy.

Check out the Teg Tip on G2ic. The Guru may have written it 10yrs ago, but it's still valid info. His method uses multiple grits and steps from rough to fine. You pretty much have to do it that way if you intend to get all of the original clear coat off.

And I highly recommend that Meguires plastic polish and cleaner mentioned in the tip. It can be hard to find (at least used to be) but it's worth finding. Seems like car manufacturers are making their lights shittier and shittier these days, my Subaru lights were cloudy after being only a few years old. I found that using the Meguires stuff will restore the crystal clear look (although only temporarily) with ease. I'm assuming for them to become clear permanently I'd need to do a full refinish like in the teg tip. But it's my daily beater, so I don't really care.

Mickeeezy is not from Canada. That's not his car, it's my friend Patrick's car. You can read up on it at www.tnd2gen.com or his SCC feature at http://www.modified.com/features/071..._rs/index.html

The conversation on G2IC is no better or worse than this thread. There's more information to be had over there, so use it to your benefit. There are plenty of die-hards still lurking over there...

As far as headlights go, try 3M rubbing compound. It works wonders.

Yeah, I think it's funny when H-T peeps dis g2ic, and vice versa. They both have their strong points, and they both have their fair share of retards. If you want G2 specific info, you're not going to find much here, but it's plentiful on G2ic. If you want tech specific or track specific info, you'll find it here - you just need to know where to look.

Seems like the only make the Plastix now, which seems to be both in one.

Seems to be like that for everything. I'm also irritated I have to wait 7 days to post anything there. I just want to post up in the FS thread.
And you're right tech there is great, especially since it's geared toward 1 car and 1 car only.

Guess I must have stumbled into the wrong threads then!
