~DA SQUAD Version 2.0~
LoL!!!!!!
I was out last night and happened to stumble upon a local race.
( I don't condone street racing!)
Kid walks out the gas station with a bottle of bleach.
Me: Are you seriously going to use that for a burn out?
Kid: Yea man he's gotta heat dem tires up!
Me: Seriously??!?!?!
Kid: Yea yo what you mean?
Me: Honestly that won't help and will only create a lot of smoke.
Kid: hahah nah ya nah, you don't know what your talking about.
Me: Ummmmm Bleach will not help you heat up an all season passenger tire, the compound is not soft, it will only probably hurt the car by making the tires moist.
Kid: Nah yo, you have no idea what your talking about!
LoL just thought that was funny, kids these days, I swear!
I was then also told by said kid that my buddies R1 would get waxed by his boys turbo Integra from a dig..... : (

Exactly.
I'm not the most knowledgeable man in the world but geeez.
I always try to help and educate when I can and these damn kids don't want to listen. Now I see why the OG HT members get so pissed off!
When I first got into the whole car thing I was eager to learn and just shut up and listened to whoever offered advice.

truth. im still a "kid" compared to most of you as im only 20 and i am able to say that i have never considered bleach as part of my warm up routine. haha. i know a guy/buddy who has built several 400 whp y0! d series motors who didnt know what plastigauge was and when i explained what it was, how to use it, and how cheap it is he responded as such:
guy:so i have to put it in there then torque it down, then loosen it, then check it and put it all back together?
me:yes, thats it. cheap insurance huh?
guy: dude, i think its a waste of time. i really hate when i have to do something twice.
he simply hones cylinders with 175k miles on them to prep for forged internals reuses the crank without inspecting it. he didnt torque his flywheel to spec, but used an impact. i insisted that this was deadly and he told me to stop making **** take so long. i wouldnt relent so he finally let me check it with a torque wrench and they were torqued ~50-60 ft/lbs. spec was 87. i know im a little off topic but i had to let it out.
on the positive side, i have made progress with him. ive convinced him that its worth his while to use plastigauge and that he should be having a shop inspect his crank and polish it up if needed. im just scared hes gonna kill/harm someone with one of these things. sorry for the rant. it was longer than i originally planned.

Here's something for all of you to read and take note.
This past weekend my Distributor went and took a crap on me. The entire rotor assembly seized and while in the process caused the intake cam to jump from the timing belt. Luckily for me this was easily repairable, not by me though, I have a very trustworthy mechanic who knows his Honda's. Sure I could have replaced the distrib. myself that's not a problem but its what lead to the events is what's absolutely mind blowing. First off I was in Pasadena buying a couple of Nankangs for my DD. so after doing the sale I get in and attempt to start the car up. It cranks over and then it just sounded like the entire engine was being choked to death. It wasn't allowing me to increase fuel intake. I could barely move 1mph, so I backed it into another parking stall over at Starbucks and called my mechanic. He graciously came over and made an attempt and it absolutely stumped him. He thought at first there wasn't enough air getting into the IM, nope. Then he loosened the fuel line, asked me to do a quick turn on/off, nope...plenty of fuel through the line. Took a look at each spark plug thought that maybe there was some water in the plug tubes from the last rain, nope. He removed the distrib. cap and noticed some red tinge color on the cap and thought your distrib. is shot.
So I had it towed to his shop and he got working on it. I had an extra new distributor at home so I had that brought in, in hopes that it would be fixed relatively quickly. Turns out that aftermarket rebuild was not the correct one for my engine..**** that idea. So now today I called my buddy and he said that they got the entire distrib. fixed but for what ever reason the intake cam jumped a took on the timing belt. Had I tried to drive the car I probably would have destroyed my motor entirely. So I get to pick it up tomorrow. It was a really bummer weekend for me, other than getting 2 new front tires.
