Default What would you do? Fuel system related...

My goal is 225 hp at the wheels reliably.

I currently have a walbro intank pump running a 12:1 Vortech FMU.

For obvious reasons this setup is insufficient, even at the 5 psi that I'm running I hear an occasional ping.

I have some eclipse 440 injectors not installed.

What should I do?

They don't make a Hondata for my car
They don't make a Zdyne for my car
I don't want an AEM EMS because it is for more of a race car and mine is still a street car that will have to have it's turbo removed for smog.

Can I just run the 440's with an AFC? Should I just get an inline pump and turn up boost to 7psi?

Thanks for any help!

why do you think you have to remove the ems for smog? is there a visual ecu check? that's also one of the points of the ems, is the install/removal is 5 min.

maybe you need to get it tuned. you shouldnt be pinging with a 12:1 fmu and fuel pump.

It's pinging because he is using the Walbro and a 12:1.

Duh.

What is there to tune on a turbo kit with no fuel management system?

Try finding a tuner who works on Haltech in your area. One should run you around $1000 and it has more tuning options than a hondata. You mentioned you would get a hondata if they made one for your car right? Well haltech is just a little better and a little more $$$

have it dynoed and see if your air fuel ratio is ok,if it is,either run better gas, octane booster or turn timing down a degree or two,if it aint, try adding an inline pump such as an MSD or Bosch unit maybe its leaning out.

Get an inline fuel pump a s-afc and a 4:1 rise rate fmu disk and put them 440cc on there and u will be ok

who told u to use a 12:1 fmu with a intank fuel pump that's just like telling u to blow your motor up and u asked why u pinging because your running lean and try to retard your timing
