Re: Walbro 450lph Users Unite
so i installed the 450 today, and my base fuel pressure went from 55 on my old dw300 to 70! what gives?
stock feed and return from tank
stock fuel filter
6an from fuel filter to fuel rail (still using banjo setup on both sides of an line)
stock fuel rail
750cc injectors
aem fpr mounted on fuel rail
6an from fuel rail to stock return line
anyone have any ideas?

If it's the AEM Honda/Acura that bolts to the rail like the factory one... It is likely that the orifice is just too small to allow that amount of fuel to pass by. My fuel pressure remained the same using an Aeromotive FPR inline after the rail.

i checked inside and i have the black orifice, the smallest one. i dont have the other ones, and the 'rebuild kit' is 42 dollars... thinking i might as well upgrade to an Aeromotive now.
are the stock banjo bolts that bolt from the fuel filter to the fuel rail not restrictive at this point?
FlewByU352 do you still have the banjo bolts?

Damn it lol. Are you reading your fuel pressure from on top of the stock filter? I had a problem with the wrong washer on the banjo bolt that goes to the fuel rail causing a restriction making fuel pressure read really high at the filter. Maybe check and make sure you have all the right washers in the banjo bolts. I guess it is possible that you are just out flowing the stock banjo bolts now?

No banjo here. I've been running a -6 AN from the fuel pump cover to the rail and regulator for years. I feel like that would allow even more LPH increasing the odds of raising the fuel pressure.

I have an Aeromotive regulator on the way, going to see if that clears the restriction up, if not I'll be changing out the stock fuel filter and banjo setup to an aftermarket filter and AN lines to the fuel rail

Re: Walbro 450lph Users Unite
Here's how I did a oem hanger mod for the walbro 450 pump. 8 gauge power wire coming straight from the battery with a stinger fuse holder and stinger 20 amp fuse, stinger relay, 8 gauge ground wire bolted to the hanger with the ground wire coming off the fuel pump and the ground wire is going from the factory bolt location on the hanger to the chassis. the factory fuel pump power wire will switch the relay on. feed is 6an bulkhead stepped up to 8an, couldnt get a 8an bulkhead to fit right. 6an return all the way. the power and ground wire are going through a appleton cord grip, i had to add a hole so both could go through. had to trim the hanger a bit, feed stayed in the factory location but factory return location had to be welded closed and moved over. I will be doing a write up with details of the setup and results. figured i'd get this out there.

Can I use a stock fuel line to 8an russel filter to banjo clamp on stock rail with stock fpr? Also do I have to run my 8 gauge wire where you did? Or can I run it starting on the outside? Shooting for 600whp on e85 with injector dynamic 1700 cc. B18b1 witha 5858.

Single 255 on gasoline is good for about 600 really pushing the envelope. Now take away 30% because E85 needs roughly 30% more fuel for stoichometric which puts right around 420hp and 1000's are now equivalent to 700's because of the 30% loss. But let's leave that out of the equation and talk strictly fuel pump. Where is the other say 15% of fuel magically coming from?
Granted there are acceptions to the rule but that's a little overboard IMO

So, that means no. You cannot run a stock rail or stock FPR using E85 for that power level. In addition, on a B18B1, you'll need more CFM (larger turbocharger) to hit over 600whp.
Here's Lighteningteg's 600whp B18B build, but he eventually went to LS/VTEC so some of the information is updated. The B18B1 portions are still there.. Take lots of notes and create your own build thread with your ideas and parts complement.

Here's a few videos from when he was still 600whp. You can PM him directly for other questions
