Walbro 450lph Users Unite
I couldn't really find the answers I was looking for about this pump, so I decided to make a new thread.
I'm going to be using the Walbro 450lph this year. This pump is the E85 safe 400lph pump. It flows 450lph at 13.5 volts. I'm using it in a DC integra, so I'm using a 255 pump sock so it can get to the bottom of the tank.
So what I had questions on...what kind of power is being made with this pump on e85? Reliability of the pump? (How long have you been using it? Any problems? Ect.) Any information by users of this pump would be great.
My setup is going to be the 450 pump with 2150cc injectors. -8 feed line with a -6 to the FPR and stock return. Golden eagle fuel rail. I'm looking to make atleast 700whp. Last year I made 560whp with a single 255 and PTE 1000cc injectors on e85. So with the upgrades I've done I think the goal should be easy to meet, but would like some intel from first hand users. Thanks!

I'm running this pump at 50 base pressure with I'd 2000's and made 600 at 25 pounds of boost with plenty of fuel left over. This is on pump e85 I believe 68% duty. Since that dyno day ungraded lines to -8 Fred and -6 return and some
Other filters etc and it Richened up quite a bit at same base pressure throughout the rpm range. Larger lines def help. -8 is overkill but I had it so used it. Be sure to run an 8 gauge wire to the pump. I have a 10 awg wire with 30 amp relay and my wiring shows signs of overheating. Ill be switching to 8 awg wire and a 50 amp relay for this pump once motor is rebuilt

I planned on running 40 base pressure so I can get as much flow out of the pump as possible. But that's nice to see that it can handle 650ish on stock lines without a sweat. Good info on the relay! I'll have to make sure I do that. Anyone out there really push this thing?

There are a few s2000 guys With this Walbro 450lph e85 pump make 700whp on stock fuel lines on e85 fuel and 2000cc injectors. The key is the wireing you must run a large power wire straight to the fuel pump.

I have the 255 sock on my wally 400 (non-e85 compatible) and i've been using e85 for the last 4 months with the pump. I have an inline filter before rail and the factory engine bay filter. stock lines with ID1000's and the dyno said 561 the other day.. not too sure if the dyno was 1:1, but i did it in a 4th gear pull on my k20 with 4.76 final

My car was at 100% duty @ 50base, Stock B18c on id1000's, E85 ,and a 255 walbro, stock lines, and she was topped out @ 20psi on a garrett 57trim, 12.5 AF, it ran 11.48@ 127.5mph @ 2650lbs 99si. Im pretty sure thats nowere near 560whp maybe 400ish i dont know how you were able to extract another 160whp..

Single 255 on gasoline is good for about 600 really pushing the envelope. Now take away 30% because E85 needs roughly 30% more fuel for stoichometric which puts right around 420hp and 1000's are now equivalent to 700's because of the 30% loss. But let's leave that out of the equation and talk strictly fuel pump. Where is the other say 15% of fuel magically coming from?
Granted there are acceptions to the rule but that's a little overboard IMO

I never said it wasnt impossible im just comparing your information against mine, and why theres such a huge difference with the same fuel pump, E85 and injector size, I am in the market for a fuel pump and the 450lph is on the list as is the bosch, i just know my car isnt making 550, 400 maybe if that and im maxed out!

Re: Walbro 450lph Users Unite
Here is my last years graph of when i made 560 with single 255 and 1000cc injectors on e85. Yes it can be done.
But thousands of people have ran the 255, im here to talk about the 400. So what people are saying is that the best bet to take the 400 to its true potential is to up the size of the power wire going straight to the pump? Has anyone had failures if this wasnt done? Or its just for the fact that the pump can flow a little more...

Walbro 450lph, 8AWG wire, 6AN feed/return, ID1000's, 85psi base pressure, 22psi boost pressure, pump E85.
Literally out of flow there, since the base pressure was so high. Doesn't surprise me this pump can do some serious power with 2,000's.

Re: Walbro 450lph Users Unite
Here's a flow chart of the walbro 400 at 12v and 13.5v. My plan this year was to run as low as base pressure as I could (40psi-ish) with being able to have a decent idle. With boost added, I wanted to be right around 70-75psi of fuel. Right at around 90psi the pump really dies off, so I really wanted to stay away from that point. I think ill have plenty of injector, just have to do the best to make sure the pump is right there with It. This is all in theory though...

do you really think it is neccesary to run an 8ga wire to this pump? 12-10 would work just fine. 8 seems a bit large.
