Sohc, Hack, ditch the 6BTM ?
I plan to run my obd1 sohc with the afc hack. I can put in the msd6btm unit I have, but should I bother ? I will run retarded timing on the distributor otherwise, but w/o a knock sensor... should I take advantage of the btm's adjustment for safety ?

I would love to run stock to advanced distrib. timing and just have the BTM pull it out as I build boost, but the current theory is that the afc hack causes the ecu to add timing under low rpm/low boost situations, so I'm quite reluctant to add in timing.

im running 20 degree advanced timing and pulling 1 degree of timing per lb of boost.....plugs are burning great, no signs of detonation, but def. keep the btm..i ran like 13-15 base timing and boosted with no retarding and the car just idled crappy...but still pulled hard, but the off boost was just not worth it...i like having the +2 stock timing and then pull some in boost....
