Default Timing

Hey guys and gals,...

I'm new to the board here. Just want to say "Hi" to everyone. Anyways, my question is I'm running 7 psi of boost on my SOHC civic with the greddy kit. Now at 7 psi should I worry about retarding the timing and if so by how much...?

Default Re: Timing (boosted_el)

You should be fine with stock timing as long as you hear no pinging. If you want to be safe retard it two degrees and you should be good. If you are planning on going any higher in boost then, I would recommend a MSD-6BTM which retards the timing for you any time it sees boost.
