Need help setting Timing on sohc 1.5/1.6 for boost.
What rpm are you idling at when you set the timing? Its hard to tell what my timing is at because the idle jumps around a little and the timing mark moves alot. I think its supposed to be at 750 when setting the timing. Any tips on setting it right.

650-750 is stock.
it's going to jump around a little, just watch it for a min after you set it.
If it's jumping a lot you have an idle problem then it's going to be hard to set your timing
Mine jumps between 700-800

Re: (BoostedD15B7)
depends on your tuning
mine is set at 16 (stock).
You want it as close to stock as possible.
If your don't have a way to retard timing under boost then i'd retard it 1.5- 2 degree per 5psi of boost (so for 10psi 12-13 degree's)..
If your have a btm or hondata run stock timing and retard per psi (my boost is retarded about .75per psi of boost
mine is set at 16 (stock).
