Question: Will a t3/t04e 60 trim ar .63/.70 be to laggy on B20
Just like the topic header says..ive been doing alot of searching with no real answer so...anyways i picked up this turbo and i was wondering will this turbo be to laggy for my b20....the turbo is a stage1 turbine...i only plan to run 10-12 pounds
to be specific the set-up is:
JDM b20b (dont know if it is different from a USDM one)
Skunk2 Intake manifold
Stage 1 Crower Cams
2.5 inch charge piping
2.5 DP with DMH performance E-cutout
CC-Fab log manifold (havent gotten it yet)
Garrett T3/To4e 60 Trim Stage one .63 turb .70 comp (from Blaast...thanks Guillaume)
Greddy Profec B Spec 2
Tial Style Wastegate (8 PSI Spring) dumping into atmo
ARC Type NS BOV
Greddy Style Intercooler (28"x6"x2.5")
ARP Headstuds
New oem headgasket
Chipped P28 on Uberdata
So yeah please let me know how well this turbo will perform on this set up....specifically spool time...i want to be full spooling by 4500rpm or less....thanks a bunch

Re: (IntegraG2)
I think you should be ok, I was running essentially the same thing(b20 head with LS block bored to 84 mm) so for all intesive purposes it was a b20, running the same turbo at 10 psi. I was hitting full boost around 3800.

^....were you running the exact same turbo
ive read somewhere that most of the to4e compressors all have relatively identical spool time...can anyone correct me????

wow thats not bad for a z6....i guess the b20 would around there or a bit earlier since it has more exhaust flow than the z6. so the turbo im gonna run probably isnt too big for my set up since alot of the singe cam guys are running to4e compressors....thanks GoKart....

Re: (EF9ZC)
The b20 is a monster in comparison to the z6, they are two complete difference things. So yes the full boost would be 5k on the z6, and 3800 on the b20.

Re: (IntegraG2)
I say get some 575cc injectors and 2.5bar with a walbro and see if you can tap 375hp on stock sleeves and shut everyone up. BTW the JDM b20b is 8.8cr and the USDM one is 9.6cr. There is believed to be a 9.2cr one floating too.... Mostly its the 8.8 jdm ones and the usdm 9.6ones. Good luck man, dont run too much timing.

thanks i might just go that route....might be kinda conservative since i want this thing to last somewhat.....but i might get power hungry
also people say that this turbo would be working inefficiently with my low boost range but when i look at the compressor map 10-12 pounds is still in that sweet spot of 79 percent......can anyone correct me

Re: (IntegraG2)
it'll be fine at 10-12 pounds but if thats all you will ever run out of it i would get something smaller and run more psi, you'll get a better midrnge

Re: (IntegraG2)
its gunna spool better than a b16 or a b18 because of the extra displacement i would assume you'd get 12 pounds by around 4400rpm or even sooner
