Does anyone know the FOR SURE answer if a y8 supercharger will work on a z6?

I've searched and searched but keep getting the run around type of answers.

I know the y8 ones are offset but can you add a washer behind the boost pulley? Also I heard you have to use the jackson racing y8 crank pulley with the y8 kit, but I thought that was to make up for the offset of the boost pulley. So if I "shimmed" the boost pulley I could just use my stock z6 one, correct?

Someone please shed some light, I wanna pick up this kit but I don't wanna waste my money and not be able to use it.

Yeah, lots of questions about different JRSC kits.I was about to get the Y8 kit and bold it on a ZC DOHC with the zcspeed adapter, but as I read more, more people have alignment issues....so I guess the best solution is to get a ZC JRSC kit....

...well, then some others say that A6,Z6 and Y8 JRSC kits are interchangeable without eny modifications.....I`m getting a little confused here.We need an expert on the subject that put these kits on different cars and made them work.

When using a y8 kit you must use the whole kit for proper allignment.

Yes, since this s/c is a standard 2-lobe blower it can be spun in either direction.

Hi guys. I own a 1993 Del Sol D16Z6 powered, and I have a problem finding the supercharger. I have googled, for HOURS upon HOURS. I have eBay'ed for hours, as well. I've got no source of information left. Does anyone know a way I could try to get my hands on the JRSC kit somewhere? Just 6PSI is fine, I just need something to that HP a little higher for an automatic daily driver. Any idea of where to look other than eBay is much appreciated. I've looked on the web and I've got nothing left.

how can you be going through belts? thats a big *** belt that cools off plenty fast.

watch it running one day and see if anything is rubbing

a loose belt will also be prone to breaking

so apparently the belt I have been buying is too small, I need like 1 size bigger because its rubbing on the plastics that cover the valve train. I have been using the belt from www.supercharger.com that specifies 96-00 civic... I'm not sure where to source a longer belt

Uh, if it was too small it would have fit too tight

I advise you to take your current belt, go to napa or autozone, and ask them to match it with one that is like an inch longer

Should only be 5-10 bucks.

Lots of factory cars use a bigass belt for accessories, so it should be in stock for ya!

And don't get hung up on buying a 3 rib or 4 rib belt just because that's the number of ribs on your pulleys. You can easily buy a 6 rib and take a sharp blade (make sure it's really sharp) and cut down the belt. Lay it ribs up on a smooth block of wood without any gouges or really open grain (smooth pine works well) and just carefully glide the blade down the bottom of the grove with just enough pressure to cut most or all the way through. If you have to go at it for a 2nd pass, that's fine too. Just be careful to follow the same cut as the 1st pass.

If you're smart about it, you can make 2 belts for your 3 rib setup with 1 - 6 rib, or 2 - 4 rib belts with an 8 rib.

Then you have "matched" belts.

that is missing the tensioner stuff, belt, and fuel rail and injectors

not a big deal if you can find the tensioner setup

find the tensioner setup and then buy the super. but not before

I just got my car tuned about an hour ago

My setup:
90' Crx Si
D16a6 Stock
Jrsc kit
Hpr Header
550 injectors
Jrsc Crank pulley
tuned on e85

My Goal was 150whp

Made 178 Whp and 160ft/lbs

Fuel pump started to get weak at about 5K
so going to install a 255 walbro and shoot for 195

Your oem fuel pump will handle 250whp easily
but if you go aftermarket, get the walbro 190
the 190 takes care of way more power then you are putting out, and usually is cheaper

The one thing that many people forget when making claims about what pump/injectors, etc... will handle what power is that a blower of any kind will use crank horsepower that a turbo will not, so your wheel horsepower with a blower (JRSC, etc...) will mean the crank horsepower is actually higher than it would be with a turbo. Ie: 250whp with a turbo might be 290 at the crank, but 250whp with a supercharger is more like 325-330 at the crank.

Plus, if the pump is the OEM original pump with umpteen thousands of miles on it, chances are it doesn't flow like it did when new.
