Like I say, the SOHC parts are cheaper, so there's always more money to "get blown".

A relatively simple/reliable upgrade to a cheap motor that will outdo most street tires is a combination for success.

Yeah W/M injection is definately another thing to consider. I tried the link. Is there something you want me to see specifically? I'm assuming they have W/M injection kits on there. I'll have to look at it again later.

Thanx!!

Hello Yawlz

I need the JRSC communities help once more.

I have the 1999 Civic Ex D16y8 JRSC kit

I need to know what the size & length is for the idler pulley adjustment screw.
Can someone please tell me?

Also could use the size for the upper idler pulley bracket bolt. (The big bolt about 5 inches long pretty thick too.)The idler bracket bolt was stripped and a piece is still stuck in the hole.

It's funny cuz both the bracket bolt and the idler adjustment screw came out of my car on the freeway at the same time and hit the hood. I expected the Bracket bolt to come out as it was stripped and broke, but not the adjustment screw which was on tight.

Thanks alot!!

You have to use premium with a sc?
Where did you guys buy yours?
If I have a sohc zc, I buy it for the d16a6?

yes you need higher octane fuel and your can buy the sc by looking threw ebay or classified for them on various forums. you can use any blower from any d-series kit on the a6.

All sohc d series kits will bolt up to SOHC zc/a6 but if you readf this whole thread you will find out that the y8 kit manifold is offset to clear a MC/booster in that gen. and also has a offset crank pulley just something to think about.

Also I have some CRX buddies running small shot of nitrous(50) with no ill effects to the blower. Dont know what a bigger shot will do. I also know of a guy running the Noszle (sp?) setup which is after blower with a 75 and sometimes 100 shot.

Was out of the Honda scene for about the last 2 years but came across a 97 ex civic with a JRSC on ebay Friday and got it for insanely cheap. Just started working on the car a little bit Sunday since I spent all day Saturday driving to get it. Belt was broke to the charger and the car does no run very well at the moment. Gonna do a basic tune up and just go over everything. Been reading through this thread and this has been a big help. Will get some pictures up when I get it running good.

wow great thread, read all 27 pages...took me a while.

currently i have a jrsc i will be installing on a d16a6 which seems to the engine of choice...i want to bump up the compression so since i already have the head off i will be getting it milled as much as possible to increase compression, but in doing that i know that there is a limit because i dont want to reduce the effieciency in the head by reducing the combustion chamber...anyone have any input on that matter?

my goal is 200whp, it seems most stick with the stock cam, am i to assume that there still isnt any benefit to doing a cam? even if i get a blox blank cam and do a custom regrind? or is the outcome not worth the cost??

i will more then likely do a meth injection kit, im a bit confused as to where to tap, is it behind the manifold as pictured earlier in the thread or in the intake piping? which is more efficient?

i would like to use nitrous as well for the drag strip (50 shot) would it be benificial to set it up as direct port vs single? wet or dry? (its for a friendly rivalry, LOL the car will be mostly a ax/rr car)

the car will be obd1, my tuner uses ostrich real time tuning software, i have dsm 450's as well.

i want to run 10lbs, if i use a b20 crank pulley does it affect the internal balance of the a6? im under the assumption that the crank pulley acts as a dampner as well....any input?

i also have a d17 block kicking around as well should i use that bottom end with the a6 head?? (if it fits...)

i have an abundance of parts, a6's z6's, d17's etc, but it seems the best setup will be an a6....your advice will be appreciated as i will be venturing into the unknown for me...

thanks!
