The Official SOHC Supercharger thread...
I have been running my JRSC for the past month or so and I have noticed that my belt works its way off of one rib on the pulley... After readjusting it and starting the car the belt almost immediately does it again. I have noticed that the alternator pulley is causing it because its a few millimeters out of alignment when the belt is properly adjusted on the supercharger pulley.
I will attempt to grind the mounting surface of the current pulley to move it in, hopefully aligning it better.. I can't be the only one with this issue. Failing that Anyone know where to buy a new alternator pulley?

The problem is not the pulley, its the alternator bracket itself. Jackson racing supplied a offset alternator bracket that shifts the alternator inward for clearance. If you never got it, then you would have to take the bracket off (a humongous bitch) and mill it or purchase one (if you can).
ok so i put on the supercharger and my exhaust is spitting out a lot of white smoke. its almost misty like. i have a base tune and i did not drive the car around at all. I was just trying to bleed the radiator to get the idle down. I dont think that it could be the headgasket because i only ran the car for a few minutes. There are no leaks from the rubber hoses I know that for sure. can anyone help?
Welcome to my life....its kind of funny, we live in the same area and have the exact same problem.

Im looking to purchase a complete jrsc kit for a d16z6. If anyone know of a kit for sale or is selling a complete kit please p.m. me with the details..Thankyou!
I've milled my stock alternator bracket but I'm still running the stock crank pulley, so I'm going to throw on the JR one to see how that helps things. If it still doesn't line up, I'm going to have to take the bracket out and mill it some more.
I think in the beginning of this thread its been a while.... I think if you run a y8 kit you also need the supplied crank pulley.......... everything has a slight offset.
For the D16Y8 kit you will need to use the JR crank pulley and the JR modified alternator bracket to properly align the belts. If not your belt will skip one rib. This would be the same for the D16Y7 motors. The Z6 is the only D series motor that does not need the crank and alt brackets because of the way the intake manifold is cast.
Jackson supplied a milled alt bracket with the kit to move the alt. 1/16" toward the tranny side of the engine to properly align the belt to the snout pulley. You will also need the crank pulley for this kit...
download the parts list for the D16Y8 kit and call Moss Motors to order the parts you need. The kits are as follows:
1996-98 = 989-200
1999-00 = 989-201

I believe I already have the crank pulley, its just the alternator bracket I need
Very curious about the Supercharger setup. Everyone in my area is running turbo, i wanna do something different. I'm staying with my D15B7, but doing a complete rebuild on it, Anyone know if they make a kit for that motor and where to buy one? if not, what do i need to put on together? thanks
just puchased a jrsc kit for my y8 and im wondering if any one has the instructions for one, cause im not sure how the double pulley bracket mounts to the motor. thanks
Moss motors is known for mazda miata and british car parts but they have also taken over the Jackson Racing roots style superchargers. Try this site:

am supposed to be getting mine back this weekend. cant wait to see how it performs. d16z6 jrsc on 8psi! fingers crossed that everything runs right. will let yall know
JRSC guys have two options. The LHT Laminova water-air intercooler setup or water/meth injection. The cost/benefit of the LHT setup isn't great at all, given the prices LHT wanted. I asked about having them fab an intercooled m62 setup; I was told flat out NO.
So I've got the water/meth route.
BTW I've fixed my belt issues and the car holds 9-10psi all day long.
