I see that there's a lot of people who wanna upgrade there stock sohc jrsc boost so
hopefully this isn't a double post but, http://www.aspracing.com/index.html makes em for $95, steel or aluminum (aluminum takes longer). Call and tell them what model your car is and what size blower pulley you want. I bought a 3.2" blower pulley that's gonna be on my D16Y8 with the JR crank so hopefully I see 9-10psi. It'll be here in 2-3 weeks so I'll post some pictures.

anyone having or had trouble with code 14 OBDO runs like dog *** but entire set up ran perfect once. accordin to my book and alldata it means idle air control or eacv wiring so the solenoids are good but there was a short in the wire betwwen the ecu and connector fixed that and still throws code. even when a different computer such as pm6 is used it still thros the same code and runs the same way.... anyone?

I know that on mine it suddenly wouldn't hold an idle, revs would just drop right to zero unless I caught it an revved. I never checked the code but it did turn out to be the Idle Air Control Valve, so I took it off and cleaned it with brake cleaner. it runs good now.

Are the JRSC from the 88-91 Civic/CRX SOHC's the same as the 92-00 SOHC's?

Been searching for a solution and no luck but...is there a way to take off the blower pulley without taking out the jrsc or engine? Thanks.

Not identical. The EG kits have a 4 rib belt setup, and the EF kits (as well as the EK) have 3 rib setups. The EFs and EKs have interference issues with the shock tower. The EK's issues are even more pronounced than the EF.

Endyn used to offer a full M62 setup for the D16 not a conversion plate which btw, is long discontinued. I haven't heard of anyone making a conversion plate to allow M62 to bolt up. If it were that easy, we'd all be running them.

So i got my jrsc d16 running finally but ive got some issues. When i start it it revs up to about 3000 3500 rpm. Then it drops to 1000 and jumps to 2000 then back down to 1000. Now i know that sounds like simple vacuum leak but it gets worse. Ive found all the open vacuums and closed them but theres know difference. So i took off one of the vacuum hoses and put my finger over it and couldnt feel hardly any vacuum in it. I did this with other hoses and had the same outcome. I messed with the bolts that hold on the s/c to the manifold and they were loose. Is there a gasket that goes in between those that goes out often? Im kina stumped right now but i know i can figure it out but i need a starting point. Please gimme somthin to get the wheels turnin. THANKS

Sounds like a vacuum leak to me. When I first got my JRSC together, I had a ton of them, the biggest one coming from the throttle body. I suggest you take a can of brake clean and spray around your engine while its running to find the leak. If you can't find one, the shifting idle may come from an inoperative IACV in which case you'll need to test it, rewire or replace it with a good one.

Good luck.

BTW if anyone needs a Y8 alternator bracket for the JRSC. I have a spare.

So for each chassis they are different?

This is my Civic 99 EX EJ8 setup

D16y8 SOHC Stock Motor and Cylinder Head
Onsoku Cam Gear -1 retard
Jackson Racing @ 7psi
4x2x1 ebay header with no CAT and stock Exhaust and muffler
Cold Air Intake with Mushroom Style Air Filter
B16a Throttle Body 60mm
MSD Cap, rotor and Blaster SS Coil
Denso IK20 spark plugs
10mm NGK Spark Wires
Walbro 255lph fuel pump @ 60psi at idle
510cc Evo injectors
P28 ECU Tunned with Crome
German Glow Gauge
Glowshift Boost/AF Raio gauge and Oil pressure gauge
Green Vtec Light and Check Engine as Shift Light
Aluminum Radiator with Samco Silicone Hose kit

Motor and JRSC:

Car:

Dynojet 248e: Civic Ex OEM(weak) and Civic EX JRSC @ 7psi - 163.6hp/124.85lb/ft

Gtech Times: Civic Ex OEM(weak) and Civic EX JRSC @ 7psi (don´t have real track times)

Video (Before tunned at Dynojet)

Video (Tunned after Dynojet)

Have some questions for the other JRSC D16 owners:
This is the dyno and numbers that I should get with this setup?
How much gain I could have if change my Stock Exhaust and Mufller to a 2.5pol and free flow Muffler?
After my dyno I saw at the internet other D16 revving up to 7700rpm and gaining HP, so I expect to reach 170whp, is it safe with my stock block D16y8 and Head?

Thanks!

Go with a better free flowing exhaust and 170 shouldnt be hard to get at all. Then look into turning boost up to around 9psi.

I'm picking up a JRSC Kit for a 96-98 CX/DX/LX (989-210) this month. I was thinking of this setup at most:

3.8" 4 rib pulley
DSM 450cc injectors
walbro 255lph fuel pump
DC 4-1 one piece headers
no cat.
resonator
2.25" piping
magnaflow performance XL muffler
wideband 02 sensor and LC-1 controller
4bar map sensor
ARP head studs
stock Z6 head gasket
hondata intake manifold gasket
colder spark plugs
K&N stock replacement air filter
p28 chipped and dyno tuned on crome

I don't know if I'm going to rebuild the D15B in my EJ1 right now or buy a separate Z6 to rebuild while I still drive around. I live in cali so I want to keep it as legal as possible. Also if anyone has a 3.8" 4 rib pulley for sale let me know.

You will face issues with pulley alignment using the EK kit in an EG. The manifold used in the EK kits has offset mounting for the blower to go with the special EK JRSC crank pulley to make room for the belt around the driver's side shock tower.
