hmm well don't I feel like an idiot now
sorry, what other editors do you suggest/use?
EDIT: d/l'd CROME and can't find a copy that doesn't need a password to be unzipped, none of the places that posted it have the password in the post or even make any mention of it...? anyone have a copy I can download off their site or email to me? It seems like this is the only other rom editor people actually use in the real world besides uberdata...my question is how they ever got to it with this damn password?

Read PGMFI.ORG, educate yourself. The password will slap you in the face....

OK, so I'm a dumbass and didnt use the search feature but I cannot get any of these p13 roms to open in any editor available on pgmfi.org, if you can get one that works, please let me know...here's the ones I have.

BTW if anyone needs webspace to host something in relation to this let me know, I have quite a bit.

how can it depend on the injectors? aren't the numbers in the fuel map basically the injector pulsewidth? the higher the number, the longer the injector stays open. so shouldn't there be a number that is the maximum injector pulsewidth (100% duty cycle)? why would it make a difference what injector your using, duty cycle is dependent on pulswidth (timeOn/totalTime). am i missing something?
if so, then tell me for dsm 450's please.

Yeah, I believe max pulsewidth is a function of rpm rather than injector size. I think there was a thread a while back in this forum that showed a small tool that displayed your injector pulsewidth for every 10 percentage points, something you could install. Other than that I'm sure there's a way to tell, have to think about it though... I assume you convert rpm to max pulsewidth by noting how long it takes the engine to spin through the 'suck' phase of its cycle at a given rpm. Holding the injector open past that would just mean you're spraying fuel at the closed intake valve.

#1 Closed loop works like normal, it will fine tune your vaccuum maps on its own. Although some of my eariler maps ran like crap at first even the bad ones would run decent in vaccuum after a few minutes of driving, untill you hit 0psi and it falls on its face
.
#2 This was in blakes FAQ on the first page of this thread

What is the appropriate ECU and bin can I use for EDM 98' ITR? P72 and stock GSR bin? Judging from users here I would have to disble the knock sensor to keep CEL away, correct?
Instead of the 74HC373 chip, can I use 74HC373N (with the N) instead or are they basically the same?

Any cheap *** 12 volt wall PS will spike to ~18 volts with no load... a chip burner is about as close to no load as you can get.
I suggest reading the Batronix FAQ, it covers this.

the N designation has nothing to do with the electrical characteristics of the chip. In this case, that last character identifies the package type. N means plastic DIP package.
so yes. its identical, and N is the correct package you need.

Rob</TD></TR></TABLE>
the injector would be the limiting factor yes. but if you just swapped in bigger injectors, using the same fuel value should max out those too. the difference is you can lean it out since you have bigger injectors. but the KEY is that the same fuel value in the map will max out all injectors at the same time.

Yeah, the value is duration, not amount of fuel injected. Bigger injectors means you need to decrease the duration if you've maxed the stock ones out.
I'm going to reread the FAQ now...

so, when i look at the JDM P72 bin, it looks NOTHING like the UDSM bin around location 5467, and in BOTH bins this location = FF.
so how do we disable knock in a JDM p72 bin? I have a feeling its not the same location in the JDM bin. anyone try it or know the correct location to change?
Thanks,
JOe
if this doesnt work, i will be taking a USDM p72 map and disabling the PA sensor, the knock sensor and the injector test circuit. only the PA sensor hasnt been documented yet, but with luck i will figure it out.
also, since i am using a wideband and i dont have a stock o2 sensor, i hope to find the o2 sensor heater code and disable it also.
i am hoping my EDM P28 ECU has the ELD circuitry otherwise i'll have to find that too.

toxicshit sent me one with knock disabled, and it ran great. I say ran because I think my faulty iat sensor is putting the jdm map in limp mode. It throws a code on obd2 and runs like ****. On the map I put b16 values in (from a usdm p30), with crome, and adjusted scalars it just runs like **** but no code - weird because I put the values in the jdm bin.
Anyway if you want it I'll send it to you. BTW, here is the difference:
