Default Hondata dataloggers - what is datalog errors?

As I am new to the system I am still battling small bugs. Otherwise its badass!!

If I datalog for awhile(1.5hrs +) my Logger starts showing errs/sec. They start low at 1-2err/sec then it will hit the tolerance of 5err/s and drop the connection. I am using the Keyspan Serial->USB, I suggest getting this piece.

I have J12 removed as well. Its just strange it only happens after datalogging for long periods of time.

Thanks for any suggestions.

It's probably the USB-serial device, I've heard nothing good about them, and have had nothing but problems when using them with my AEM EMS. I ended up getting a PCMCIA-serial adapter and it has worked flawlessly. It is a bit more expansive though, around $100.

The USB->serial adapter is working 100% better than straight to the serial port. I shouldn't be running out of storage(512RAM). Thanks.

RAM = memory, not storage hehe. i just wasn't sure if the datalogged stuff was saved on your hard drive (gigabytes) or on a chip in the hondata.

Thanks,
mike

Oh well in that case its a 30GB HDD with 22GB left. So I am ok, unless there is a TEMP file that Logger writes to that can be increased....

i bet your power saving is kicking in probably turning off/powering down some of the peripherals after a certain period.

go into power managemnt in the control panel and make sure everything is always set to turn off : Never

hope we can help ya, but man..not like u have huge problems datalogging for 1.5 hrs hehe

good luck!,

Yeah its not a huge problem but it does get annoying. All my power savers are off, no hibernate, nothing.

Anyone used the 1 microfarad Capacitors? Are those to improve datalogging at all? I know they are not necessary. Thanks MikeMan!!
