H22 Arp Head studs. How tight in the block?

H22 Arp Head studs. How tight in the block?
Well I did a search but didn't find the answer to my ?. How tight should I go on the studs into the block? I've herd finger tight and the last time I put them in I went 10#> Just want to know what's right.

when they bottom out in the block, you should stop twisting. but make sure they're bottomed out and not just hitting a tight spot. you shouldn't torque them.

just snug them hand tight to be sure they are all the way down bottomed out like said above... you dont really want to have any real torque on them.

make sure your torquing the studs at the right ftlbs also. 80ftlbs of torque with arp moly lube and 120 ftlbs if your putting them in with 30w oil. Trust me found out the hard way.

I have molly lube thank god. Damn! 120 with 30w oil? I did use 30w before but I torqued it at like 90lbs. 40lbs of extra force sounds extreem.

yah but that extra torque is going to keep you from blowing head gaskets and those numbers are from ARP.

I also found that out the hard way when i only put at most 70 on them with moly thanks to a miscalibrated torque wrench... i am using either a good mac or snap-on that have both been checked this time.
