arp head bolts

arp head bolts
needing some information on the torque specs for these
im aware that the nuts are around 80 foot lbs, but what about the bolt its self that screws into the block ar ethey hand ight or do they need torquing as well??????

so hand tight on them and 80flbs on the nuts then ??????????
because i had some issues last week at the track, and getting it ready for a new block and was like wow these are only hand tight lol

ahhh got the info from google im just amazed that hand tight is the way to kinda crazy if you think about it lol

yeh i was confused as well when i did it 2 weeks ago, make sure the threads in the block are clean, and use the ARP assembly lube on the threads on the stud, hand tighten, make sure they go in and snug them up, you want to 3 step the torque sequence...so thats 25 foot pounds...55 foot pounds, and then 80 foot pounds, that makes it so if theres any room for the stud to turn a little more, they turn before they are fully tight. I only had one turn ever so slightly when we did the final 80 foot pounds on them. And then just double check.

they are hand tight due to the fact that when you tighten the nuts down onto the studs, the studs will tighten as torque increases. You will notice that when you go to remove the studs, they are no longer hand tight.
