Found profec b help is it broke???
Ok I went to a local junkyard where you remove your own parts then pay.. I happened to find a profec b the 1st generation.. I looked on greddys site and believe i have hooked it up right..
On my tial 38mm i don't have the top port in it, its just open like it was with my manuel boost controller.. I have the side WG port running into the out on the greddy box.. The in on the greddy box is running to vacuum on my manifold..
Right now everything comes on but the system is running 10lbs which is my wastegate setting.. I've switched back in forth on it from high/low boost messing with the sharpness nothing changes..
We put it on my buddies 4g63 with internal WG and the same thing..
I've read some stuff about the little switches on the back but don't no nothing about them because obviously don't have a manuel my buddy moved them around to no avail but maybe thier is a certain way to set them up anyone know??
And could this be sent to greddy and fixed i'm thinking maybe something in the box is broke maybe silnoids or something dunno??

you have to run both ports, thats how it regulates boost. It modifies the signal going to the top port via a solenoid to regulate boost pressure
not sure what you mean do i run both of my ports together into a tee then bring the single hose into the profec box???
we tried it on a 4g63t with internal wastegate and it did the same thing..

no, there is a solenoid mounted in the engine bay for the controller, the both plug in to that, and a manifold vacuum line goes through the firewall. Sounds like you didnt grab the solenoid
i figure the solenoid is the black greddy box correct that mounts in the engine bay it has a in and out nipple correct??
I have the side nipple on my WG running to the out on the greddy box.. I ran the IN on the greddy box to my manifold vacuum port.. I ran the nipple on the back of the greddy boost controller display to vacuum..
We hooked it up this way on both cars is this wrong??

i went and looked at the original instructions on greddys site which is confusing because it has different variations, the only thing we don't have is the air filter thingy that goes by the greddy display, i don't think thats needed..
So you think i should put a nipple back on the top of my tial 38mm and run both the top and side nipple to the greddy box??
anybody else have this thing hooked up that could help out??
thanks for helping bro..

all EBCs use the top nipple of the wastegate so yes you are gonna have to hook it up. if you look at the instructions for the external wastegate you can see easily how it should be hooked up.
1. side port to a boost source
2. top port to OUT nipple of greddy solenoid
3. boost source to IN nipple of solenoid
1 & 3 can be the same boost source (compressor housing, charge pipe, IM, whatever). the side port and top port should not be tee'd together in any way.
it seems like you have the in car display hooked up and ready but if not you just need to tee a vacuum line so the display will read boost, similar to a boost guage. they are suggesting the fpr in the instuctions.
