Default can't get greddy mbc to go past 5psi(anyone?)

i have the greddy t.v.v.c. boost controller and if i turn it all the way one way or the other it never goes past 5psi...what gives.....this thing isn't cheap i don't thing that it is broken but you never know.....also i took it off the car and turned the **** one way and blew in one side and i could blow through to the other side ...and if i turn it the other direction it gets harder to blow through...so that leads me to believe that it's working properly...so does anyone have any ideas?
