Default Feedback on my LS-T Dyno Graph

I have a straight LS motor (LS head too) with a AFI Street Kit on it. The motor is completely rebuilt and sleeved, and the valvetrain was completey redone too. Only stock items are cams and crank. Had the car tuned and here is the dyno run on 12 lbs. I thought the 220 HP was a little light, but wanted to get some opinions.

By the looks of your graph... Boost comes very early so you must be running a small turbo... What size is it?

220whp is still kinda low... But you said you have motor built with a stock cam and stock heard... Whats your compression?

what boost are you running?

what management as well?

any particular reason for staying stock cams?

sorry am a bit of a noob when it comes to honda engine codes etc, i only know what i have for my build etc, what is the ls? is it the 1.5s?

57 trim isnt that small, but 220whp equates to what 250hp at the flywheel assuming 12-17% drivetrain losses? if on something like 7psi that isnt exactly that bad . . .

12 PSI boost, Neptune, Stock cams due to budget and easy to change at a later date, LS is the 1.8L non-vtec (B18B engine). And yes I agree it is about 250 at the flywheel.

Don't get me wrong, very fun car to drive on the street, just thought it was going to be a little higher on the HP

looks like stock cams and a conservative tune here. if its sleeved and has forged internals you can tune alot more aggresive and make nice power. also ditch the stock cams for some jg303's or some crower 404's or bisi cams or some rocketmotorsports. you can also do a custom regrind too.

know exactly what you mean, then again it is just a number really, it is all about how it goes on the street. . . .

a vtec engine would obviously produce more power than a non vtec.

out of interest what made you sleeve it? you going to push for bigger power in the future or just for reliability etc? ive sleeved my b18c4 but only because im going for about double your power. i thought stock sleeves would be perfectly fine for that kind of power output?

mustang dyno's do read lower compared to your average dyno jet #s, keep that in mind

thats completly irrelevant comparing a 2.0l vtec motor to a ls with stock cams.

I would just take the car to a drag strip and see what it traps. that will often times tell you alot more about the power your making.

This is something i was wondering about. Does anyone know roughly by how much (percentage)?

Another thing I was wondering is why the power curve falls flat on its face @ 6K RPM. Is this simply the stock cams?

yea. stock cams kill top end so does the stock intake mani fyi. I put a xs power on mine (same as a skunk2 just junky) and noticed a big top end rpm gain in whp

a long time ago i modded up a b16 intake manifold to fit on my ls motor. i was able to carry torque to 6200 without it falling, and power was still steady at 7000 when i shut it down.

its cams and intake manifold. get them swapped out and you will see serious gains

what size exhuast & downpipe, Also what turbo manifold? those could make your power a little on the low side.

also turbo could be out of its effeciency range too. upp the boost on that biotch and see if she makes big increases.

my ebay turbo setup at 9psi mad 207whp and at 12psi made around 250

Numbers do seem kind of low but like stated before take it to the track and see what it does. The tune is probably on the safe side. What size turbo? Are you on full exhaust all the way back if so what size is that?

Running a ram horn manifold, t3/t04 57 trim garrett turbo, 3" downpipe right into a 3" thermal exhaust, including a straight 3" test pipe.

However, you guys bring up a good point I missed....stock intake manifold. Combine that with stock cams and I an beginning to see the light.

Reason I stopped at 12 PSI was I was getting a small boost spike every few runs and it was cutting out at the boost cut of 15. My tuner did not want to go past 15 no matter what ( I believe he was monitoring the EGT's and determining from that). Keeping it at 12 kept us from hitting the boost cut.
