Default diverter valve?

is anyone on here using a diverter valve, or is everyone just using a BOV? i just read the article in scc where they were talking about BOVs and DVs. to me it seemed that the DV would be more effective. anyone have any reasoning for why to use a BOV over a DV on a b series motor?

Is this the samething as a bypass valve?

I was actually thinking the same thing. We tried a type-s on my brother's vw 1.8t and there was actually more lag compared to the bosch diveter valve. Wouldn't it be beneficial for us to divert the air back in to the intake pipe like some factory turbo cars do?

thats what i was wondering b18flip. it seems that it would be more benificial to run the discharged air back. i was wanting to see if i was reading it all correctly, or if a diverter valve would be a bad idea and i should just stick with a bov?????
any suggestions???

I'll be running a type-s so i'm gonna try running a tube back to my intake pipe.

a bypass valve and bov and dv all discharge boost, but a bov and dv do different things with the air.

that's what I thought...I don't see how you could get power gains from routing the discharged are to the air filter. Maybe it'll discharge the air more efficiently since the air filter is essentially and air vacuum. But any 'good' BOV should be efficient enough to discharge the air efficiently. Other than that, its just a sleeper factor...

Bump back to the top. Are there any diverter valves for our cars? I'm trying to set up an Integra and I actually don't like the BOV sound. Haha, how about that!

yousir are correct. Big problem on mustangs, a lot of people with vortech kits weld on a BOV and dump it and wonder why the car runs rich and sputters between shifts. You let off, and it dumps air that the computer has already compensated for and adds too much fuel. I have not noticed any quicker spool routing the bov/bypass/diverter valve to the intake.

hrm, also with our speed/density setups, we dont' need to satisfy the MAF sensor, but I don't suppose it can hurt to have some intercooled air re-injected for re-circulation...

Just seems more efficient to me. Instead of dumping that air into the engine bay, reinject it into the intake path. But to be honest, the biggest reason I'm interested is noise. I don't like the squeaky noises that wastegates and BOVs make. The DV should help avoid some of those problems, eh
